How he got a title is a mystery to me. He folded up like a cheap lawn chair against the only good fighters he faced. KO in the first round by one and I think it was the third? round by the other. Rolls didn't do any better. There is no indication to me that Rolls would for sure lose to Fielding. Kamil's an OK dude by the looks. Tough come forward Pole, fairly quick with a decent body attack and knows his way around a ring but he's hopelessly unprepared for this level of fight. Be nice to see him vs Sulecki FWIW - that'd be the kinda test which might show if he even belongs at this level, but to date there's nothing to show he does really. In a way this fight ain't really fair on either of 'em cos GGG gets zero credit and Kamil's likely to be written off as a bum forever more even if he turns out to be a passable middle ranker when his true level gets established. I am not really hardcore GGG fan, but Szeremeta is #6 by The Ring, so I see no problem.

I guess there's two schools of thought - from Golovkin's point of view of course - which kinda depend substantially on how he rates his chances against Canelo. If he's thinking he's got little chance of pulling off the win whether he fights him now or at the end of his contract in maybe a coupla years then there's some sense in putting it off as long as possible, trying to get a few more in the W column before he declines even further and then going out on an L to the sport's biggest star. If he genuinely thinks he can win of course it makes sense to do it ASAP, although we may just all be overthinking it... like you say it's a mandatory that can also serve as a tune-up and he did agree to fight the dude before all this COVID 19 business hit. Ain't anything surprising or controversial about just fighting the dude you already agreed to fight. Ha and I can't see GGG losing to Szeremeta although it would be kinda hilarious if he did... there are several guys I would give a real good shot at beating GGG now though, although the fight I'd like to see most is Golovkin Andrade. In a funny way a 32/3 year old Golovkin was like the prospects we're used to at 25 or so batting away at the glass ceiling, whilst the big, established names legitimately ask 'well who's he beat? what does he bring to the table?' Complaining how unfair it was, only to do the same to the next wave of young contenders when they reach the top table.... It's a story as old as boxing it's just that guys are usually a lot younger when they reach that point. A combination of his late start in the pro ranks and the years lost in litigation with Universum just meant that his breaks only really started coming when his prime was already coming to an end. Nobody's fault it just is what it is.
