I think prime vs prime is a lot rarer than people remember. Was Duran with 70+fights and 12 years of wear and tear as a pro on him in his prime when Leonard fought him? How about Hagler and Hearns, were they in their primes when Leonard fought them? How about Morales and Barrera? Were they in their primes and at their best weights when Pacquaio fought them? Guys are in their primes for a few years, outside of those few years there's always a case to be made they were out of their primes. And as far as getting guys earlier in their careers when they were "green" Well you're darned if you do darned if you don't, if the public is crying for a fight and you don't make it you get called a duck.
