Well...and anyone he 'fought' (he didn't actually fight guys, he broke the rules and then retired early after losing to Kovalev.
Corrupt fighter, corrupt help. Disgusting.

I didnt say every referee doesn't do his job correctly. Some dont and I'm not sure how you can refute this. Them not penalising fighters for fouls, encourages the fighter to keep doing fouls.
You still havent brought up one argument why Ward is not dirtier than other fighters. There is no discussion from your side.
Ward constantly lunges in with his head, constantly clinches, attacks and grabs hard to keep his opponent from working, ties up his opponent whenever they get close to his range.
Thats not clean boxing.
I'm not saying that Ward would have lost, but the look of the fight would be much different if he wasnt allowed to constantly clinch his opponent.
Kessler inbetween rounds:
"He keeps holding me."
Kessler post-fight interview:
"It was unfair with the headbutt and the holding."
Kessler got whooped ... stop all that whining. Kessler too. Best way to stop a dirty fighter: start whooping on him ... no one is holding you back. I haven't brought up why Ward isn't dirty?? You made the claim .... I said the refs never stopped a fight because of it. NO DQ's. Maidana fought dirty, have you ever said "poor Floyd ?" Fury's glove flapping in the wind ... "Poor Wilder?"
If you're gonna call one guy out as being dirty, you have to call them all out ... not just when your fav loses.
Once the fight starts boxers have to protect themselves, especially if a guy gets dirty. If the ref allows it, you better be doing something.
End of story.
Check the record books.
Kovalev was done. His body language said it all.
- -Check the ball sack.
Wart fight language was ball sack all night as Kov was complaining to Tony all night long.
Wasn't even a legit stoppage as Kov lodged yet another legit complaint. Had Kov retaliated in kind, be a genuine KO with Wart needing hormone therapy for the rest of his life.
What grade U in?
LoL @ a fan's "sentiment" ruining boxing FOR YOU. I answered you pertaining to the discussion at hand ... I'm not going into left field with you and your ridiculous views on "dirty".
It's a fight. Fighters prepare to win a war. Now you're claiming referees don't "do their job correctly"??
Sounds like you need to set up your own boxing league, hahaha!
Anyway, we agree to disagree. Ward was no dirtier than most fighters, but more successful at winning. I don't see disqualifications, citations, warnings, in his resume anymore than any other fighter. End of story.

Ward was a C level fighter with some weird connections backstage. Even before hooking up with dirty roc nation.
Event after event, he either he turned a certain DQ into a win via selectively blind referees, got saved by 1 magical scorecard via selectively blind judges, etc.
In "boxing matches" he always looked outgunned & desperate.

that stoppage?
yeah nobody can ever take that legendary stoppage away... except by posting a gif of it

There’s no bait.😂
Ward stopped Kovalev in the rematch. It’s a fact. It happened. You can’t change it.
I wanted Kovalev to win both fights and thought he edged the first fight but the REALITY is he lost. Just get over it man. It was 3 years ago.

“A lawsuit”😂😂
I’d take Kovalev over Ward any day. It doesn’t change the fact Ward decisively beat him in the rematch.

He hit him with an extremely low punch to the bottom of the athletic cup then laid on top of him as he hunched over to make it look like a stoppage.
It was widely met with disgust and controversy. Roc Nation has pretty blatantly rigged some undercard fights (including Perez-Hooker on the undercard of Kovalev-Ward I) and the the ref calling that a clean stoppage took it over the top.
Even if you think he won or prefer him, that isn't what "definitive" means. The first fight -- despite being scored by the overwhelming majority of the media in Kovalev's favor, was still a more "definitive" win for Ward than the second fight, which was a complete farce and should have resulted in an investigation & lawsuit.

Decisive: producing a definitive result.
He stopped him...
How’s that not a decisive victory?

"He landed a clean shot a little while before that!" isn't a valid argument because that's not in the rules.
If landing a clean shot then finishing with a barrage to the testicles was legal then Golota would have retired 1000-0.

I honestly don't think Ward has any "fans". People just pretend to like him to troll internet forums, get a reaction.
Especially the (nut shot, nut shot, shove him down as he bends over, ref waves it off) ending of the Kovalev fight.
For people who were already using him as troll material, that turned him into solid gold.
That was Golota vs Bowe but worse and he got a win out of it.
The OP was salty as f***.😂
I’ve consistently stated I’m no fan of Ward but he schooled Froch and after a close and controversial fight with Kovalev, he beat him decisively in the rematch. I wanted him to lose both times but it is what it is...
Beat Kovalev decisively in the rematch?? lmao
Ward may have schooled Froch but there was nothing close about his first fight against Kovalev and the only controversial aspect was the absolute robbery on the scorecards. I suppose you could say he won the rematch decisively if you consider low blowing your opponent into submission a decisive victory. Not to mention his one-sided win over Kessler in which he tore his face to ribbons by way of numerous intentional headbutts.
That was the beauty of Ward's style - he could adapt to any opponent. If he felt you were vulnerable downstairs he'd focus his attack on your balls. Conversely, if you left yourself open upstairs he'd be in there like a shot, headfirst billy goat style. He really could do it all.
Ward was basically the American Sven Ottke, except dirtier.
Here we go again...😂
The first fight was incredibly close. Ward stopped him in the rematch.
It was 3-4 years ago. Let it go man.

I agree. The first fight decision giving Ward the victory was a new low for American boxing and Vegas judging. Ward had to win the final 7 rounds to come out on top and he manages to win every one of the seven (against the champ) and they were all close rounds. WTF?
