He made a lot of mistakes, the way he taunted Joe Frazier was disgraceful at times but I thinks it’s undeniable that Ali had a far more positive than negative impact on the world throughout his life.
Most people are flawed characters, it’s just 99.9% of us don’t have every move we make aired to the public. I think anybody that uses any celebrity as a moral compass would be stupid anyway.
We are all hypocrites. Some of the most culture shifting and iconic members of society had disturbing aspects of their private lives. No different than the pastor or priest slanging the good word and little boys and girls at the sane time. None of us are infallible. The sooner our world can acknowledge this ancient concept, the sooner we can make universal progress.
Ali was no saint, but who is? The Nation of Islam flavor of Islam isn’t accepted by either Shia or Sunni Islam.
Ali is dead now, so I’ll reserve other criticisms for now.
