Excellent, quality, calmly delivered analysis of this guy's history.
Really makes you realize what's gone on here with the hyping. Teddy Atlas spotted this years ago.

He should ask that about Canelo over GGG for all the hate and bum talk Golovkin gets. Ask the same of Mayweather’s win over Canelo who was an even better version of himself when he fought GGG to a draw.
Very true...and Canelo-GGG probably the best example of this scenario...GGG 'sucks' but Canelo is number 1 pfp...yet most feel GGG was the better man, at 35+ years old, in those 2 fights.
artur grigorian was champ for 7 and a half years. who is that you probably ask. exactly. guys used to hide out with their belts fighting bums but wilder brazenly did it in front of everyone
It is still a very good win. Hype around Wilder was crazy, I mean, "the biggest puncher ever seen", "the most dangerous man in the world"...And Fury beat this guy like a dog, and took his belt and his 0.
Looks fine to me.
Fury will never get any credit from haters, whoever he beats. If he beats Joshua, they will say, Joshua is glass jawed Brit. If he beats Usyk, they will say Usyk is a cruiserweight. Dubois is young. Etc etc.
The same goes to Joshua.
KODaggum, thanks for exposing the fact that before tonight's conversation, you had no idea how to properly source. Here, take a look. You have arrows and all LMAO

And if I really want to get technical, you have 8 more sources to go. But since I know you struggle in this arena, don't worry about it. Just know next time someone asks for a source, don't send them bogus sources that contradict your story.
And yet GGG has still only managed to fight 6 champions in 42 fights in an era with 4+ champions per weight class...and ONE of those "champs" was a 147 fighter at 160 lmfao
Dont need no arrows for that XD XD XD

I've been saying for Y E A R S that literally Every. Single. PBC fighter. Is "decent". Not ONE elite guy in there.
Deontay beat Ortiz twice, gift draw w/ Fury, and then KTFO
Spence beat broken Brook (decent win), drew w/ C-level Porter, and has actively worked to avoid Crawford
Thurman and Porter have always been C level guys.
Gervonta is beating part time and over the hill guys while avoiding LomaGOAT
Ruiz a 1 hit wonder/fatty
Never seen an entire promotional roster of fighters versus SO MANY SCRUBS in my life
Hey Cliff, out of curiosity, what other fighters did you score, but not post?
Everyone who made a P4P list for Ring or TBRB in the decade and the three most notable big name heavies who tend not to make those lists (Wilder, Fury, Vitali)
Say it louder.....

As I've explained before, it wasn't Cliff's article that made me believe he was #9, as that could've been a typo. It was the article you just provided.
Providing a link like you did to the article is what makes Stevens #9 7 years ago, which is why I asked for a source.
lol yeah everything is a typo that you dont like! maybe ring magazine made a typo in their article saying he was #9! you never know!
thank you. you admit you were wrong and took the L. great job.
also i posted that as a general guide to show you the ranked guys he fought. it wasnt just to show you where stevens was ranked. you tried to nitpick one tiny thing and got owned in the process. great job
No, I'm saying I asked you to source your claim. You gave me a source saying Stevens was unranked.
One take away from this is at least you know how to properly source :beerchug:
undefeated WBA titleholder Gennady Golovkin broke down No. 9-rated Curtis Stevens to an eighth-round stoppage with Stevens’ corner halting the bout at the end of the round. “GGG” cannot improve his No. 1 rating. Stevens will drop from No. 9 to No. 10
you yourself just admitted you already had cliffs article showing that stevens was ranked #9 so why are you playing dumb and lying all over the place?
i took the annual rankings because i knew you would fall right into the trap of saying but he wasnt reanked at the end of 2012! then i gave you the rankings right before the fight and you came clean saying you already had cliffs article and now you are desperately flailing trying to find something to cling onto. like i said before. take the L
how did he avoid him though? he offered him a huge career high payday. what more could he do? he cant make wilder fight him. why ont you ever point that critical eye towards wilder? does it only go one way? wilder turning down huge paydays to fight lesser fighters(on paper) why did wilder avoid joshua? it wasnt for more money we know that. so it must have been fear unless you have another reason why he avoided joshua?
Because he didn't want to get tied into Hearns multi fight deals. He wanted a straightener, a straight 50/50 deal between the clear 1 and 2 in the division at the time.
I claimed he was unranked based off the source you gave me... Here take a look:

Do you not see the difference between this picture vs the article?
so you are saying you knew he was ranked #9 all along even while you were saying he was unranked? oh my god this is great stuff. can you own goal yourself anymore than this?
You do what has to be done to prove yourself the man.
Joshua needed Wilder to prove he was a real champion, but we all know he was more than happy to avoid him and keep bringing in that paper.
I don't blame him from a business perspective.

For the record, this was your first "source"

I proved you wrong based off your own source and then Cliff came through to clarify.
One big take away is at least your a little better at sourcing :beerchug:

yeah i dont think thats a very rational position to hold. the a-side doesnt usually bend over backwards. he offered him 12 million when his high was 2 million. thats not a bs offer. he then offered him 100 million later on. oh no it was part of a 3 fight deal...so?

Dare to be great. Wilder is utter dog**** apparently so what's the problem?
It's not like AJ was short of a few quid anyway.

Like I said
yeah we proved it buddy. you are the one making excuses and talking in circles.

watch in a couple days he will be back on here saying stevens wasn't ranked lmao
why would they offer a guy who can't sell and only made 2 million a 50-50 split? so you admit joshua should have bent over backwards for wilder just to make the fight and when he didnt its a duck? that makes no sense sorry.
Dare to be great. Wilder is utter dog**** apparently so what's the problem?
It's not like AJ was short of a few quid anyway. Wilder was trash talking him and calling him a b1tch.
If they had offered Wilder a straight 50/50 the fight would've been made, not all these multi fight deals etc.
Yes, Wilder would've been significantly overpaid based on previous earnings and Joshua would have had to take a big pay cut.
However if AJ truly wanted to be great and honestly thought Wilder was a bum, he should've instructed Hearn to make the fight no matter the cost.
In reality, Hearn does what Hearn does, he tried to do the same thing with Fury, tie him into multi fight contracts and told him he needed to beat Gym Sweeper Whyte to 'earn' an AJ fight.
The facts are, Joshua and Hearn were worried about Wilder smashing AJs jaw, so they made some bs offers and then started a spin campaign to convince AJs casual fanbase that Wilder ducked him
I see all these numbers tossed around by AJ fans, but when I ask for numbers and proof, I get linked to Eddie's twitter account.
Fury is the only HW with balls in this division.

the source is right here. says he's number 9. just put in ring-tv without the dash. oh wait thats too hard chollo can't do that. must be a fake source derp derp
you mean when he offered him the fight for 12 million when wilder had just made 2 million. lowball ducking coward. then came back later with 100 million. he wanted nothing to do with him!
