Artur was asked who he would prefer to fight if he had an option Bivol, Kovalev, Canelo or rematch Gvozdyk. He answers all of them preferably not in one day. LoL
He is a real beast !
I hope you right and we can witness his great boxing skills that long, I've been always saying he is underrated fighter. Even now people talk about his power only, never mention his boxing iq , technique..
Agreed. People calling him nothing but a plodding come forward fighter don’t know what they’re watching.

Those are called haters
Fair, everyone hits a decline. I'm just saying his decline won't be nearly as rapid as a lot of fighters. Artur walks around in fighting shape daily and as you said, lives like a monk. Wouldn't be surprised if he can still go until 40.

Wouldn’t be surprised one bit
Yeah you right he has incredible discipline. He lives like a monk. However he has 2-3 years and then he declines unfortunately..pednelo will be waiting for this moment

I’m cdn and I haven’t even seen a lot of AB fights. I’ve seen more of Bivols actually. I love that AB has travelled around and not just been a Montreal hometown draw. Still he is old, even if he isn’t shop worn. Will always be hard for him to get fights because he’s good, rough, and not a huge name. I’d have loved for Canelo to have fought him. A lot of people think AB would be a bridge too far, but I think Canelo is good enough that I think Vegas would have him favoured well enough. Maybe that’s me just trying to goad the fight. I haven’t done a deep dive on either fighter actually, and I won’t until they have big fights set up. I don’t usually make a big deal about size or weight. But even if u haven’t seen much of Bivol a first impression is worth something. That’s why I wanted to agree with u about him not looking like a physically strong 175lbs. Maybe we can both look more, sucks that there’s nothing going on. But I see him as a guy that can win potentially going backwards if he can’t win going forwards, but he’d need to be masterclass.
Good post...completely agree on the part I put in bold...he would need to really on point I think to win
Hit me up with that long list of big fights that were held in Russia. I'll wait.....................
Final WBSS Gassiev Vs Usyk for example.
Klitschko Vs Povetkin
Kovalev Vs Chilemba
When it comes to huge fights involving russian fighters russian sponsors throw massive money to make the fight in Russia.

Yeah I agree...I am not 100% familiar with either guy myself...probably only watched a few fights of theirs, and none really in total...well maybe one each in total.

Yeah will be interesting to see how he holds up...not a lot of pro mileage and by all accounts lives a clean life, but is already 35...CW is such a boring division historically to me so I don't even really care to see him move up.
If he could somehow move up to HW I would love to see it, but besides Usyk I can't see him challenging any of those HWs or SHWs...hopefully AB is in a few more good fights before he retires...I like the action he brings out there.
Very interesting...yeah I need to watch that whole Usyk-AB amateur fight (or fights) they had...I've heard one of them especially was very close...I honestly think Kov would have fought AB as well, just never really panned out for that fight to happen imo.
Kov was dealing with Ward while AB was still coming up...and then after the Ward fights, Kov has been trying to get back to the top of the hill while AB has been a bit ahead of him...just had a small window imo for it to actually happen and I don't think it will.
If you could tell me Kov wouldn't gas I would give him a good shot to beat AB actually...but that Kov is about 5 years gone probably...but otherwise I think his style would matchup well...just depends on how well he takes AB's punishment on the night.
If they fought now I don't know of anyone who would pick Kov to win.
Yeah prime Kovalev would have great chance to beat Artur Beterbiev. However Lionell Thompson (had 1KO only from Kovalev, and sparred with Beterbiev, very decent fighter) said in the interview that Artur will demolish anyone in LHW including Kovalev. You can find that interview on YouTube. He said that he had the worst experience ever when he sparred with Beterbiev. He said Artur hits like a truck
Right Bivol is a bit stringy at 175lbs. But he can jab on the back foot. He’d have to not get hurt or dropped and win a lot of rounds obviously to get past a pushing AB. I just need to see more of both of them.

Interesting, thanks man. Yeah Bivol to me seems more like a 168 fighter, and I just can't really see him lasting at 175 vs AB right now...if he was a little bigger I would really give him a shot to pull off the upset.
I will tune in though...props to the Nail for actually facing AB, a lot of guys would have delayed that fight as long as possible.

Only father time, most likely.

By the way very few people know that before Artur signed with top rank he had conversation with Eddie Hearn and was ready to sign with him if he guarantees Artur a fight against Usyk. Artur was ready to move up to CW to beat Usyk to avenge his loss (he arguably lost Usyk in the olympics 2012).
Since Beterbiev signed with Top rank his team offered fights to Kova and Gvozdyk. They had refused. Props to Gvozdyk he had changed his mind later and they made the fight.

Great analysis. Agree with everything. Bivol is the only fighter at 175 who has a chance against Artur. Bivol's footwork, workrate and stamina is impeccable. If he manages to keep Beterbiev at bay and move around all 12rds I can see him winning on points.
In Beterbiev last interview he mentioned that Bivol was in his team as sparing partner to prepare him for olympic games and he sounded confident that he would beat him if the fight ever happens.

Hes 35
When canelo beats him, people will just say he was old and not give canelo credit.
Canelo will NoT fight him because his team know what would happen in this fight. They will do usual stuff , will wait till Artur shows some vulnerability and jump on him
