since his comeback....he has done enough to win all of them, but it seems like he has been clowning in them and not taking them serious
unlike the two wilder fights....he truly seems like a fighter that fights to the level of his competition
The guys he was knocking out were crap though. Ortiz had never beaten a top 10 fighter himself and that's wilders best win by far, not only that he was way past his best and there's some professional boxers who swear by the fact that they know he is 50 years old.
Yes, we all know ortiz was 60 years old and high blood pressure and was wilder best win. But wilder would have been favoured to beat Josh and fury still?
Or maybe wilder actually isn't that great an opponent himself and when someone stuck it on him he didn't have a clue what to do. I'd favour wallin against him
No point in saying wilder isn't good, when he knocks every out. Wilder didn't look good against Ortiz before koing him. But people still kissed wilder butt saying how calm and patient he was and not panicking against ortiz. Making him favourite in rematch with fury
Fury fights up to his competition, the also does better in rematches. And the more he feels you are a threat then the better he performs/prepares for you. When I said he needs 4/5 tune ups before the first Wilder fight, some thought I was crazy. That’s why Tony Bellew wanted to cherrypick him before he fought Wilder the first time. He knew that’s the best and only time to beat Fury. He was a cherrypicked gone wrong for Wilder.
Most of these guys can't truly get up and train hard against lesser known competition, so I get it. Wilder's boxing skills are flawed but he does have the big right hand and has knocked guys out on a championship level.
So, I'm sure Fury trained much harder for Wilder than Schwarz (sp) and possibly Wallin. I know, these guys are supposed to take every fight seriously and train hard, but we all know it doesn't always go that way.
Look at Crawford's last fight against Mean Machine. Now, Mean Machine isn't a slouch but nobody knew him and Bud got clowned for the fight, so I can see why he had the moments he did during the fight.
I mean, what can a lesser known guy do if he happens to upset the house fighter? He can walk away with the belts and the attention but he still wont get the recognition that a champ or known fighter would've gotten for beating said fighter.
Lesser known guys don't know what to do with the extra attention and what happens? The A-side fighter's team throws a bunch of money at the guy, set him up to lose and act like the first loss never happens after the A-side wins the rematch.
Just my take.
