The good
-it's cheap and affordable to anyone with any income
-they show more cards than espn or pbc
-*they show more fights per card than any network
The bad
-they are literally ran by robots, who cant do a damn thing to satisfy fans
-the lagging and streaming issues are a major problem for not only me, but many boxing fans
fans
-I feel like potential new boxing fans are turned off by DAZN, because they dont want to be restricted by watching championship level boxing on a phone or dysfunctional roku device
-they promised PPV worthy fights, we have only got 3 to this point
DAZN vs. PBC vs. ESPN has divided boxing fans for a long time. Its NOT about me, you, or anyone in particular, it's about the sport of boxing, mainly the fans. We have more power than you may think, so let's discuss.
It's a good service and value for money
Is it perfect, naw but for what it costs you don't expect it to be.
I could see them raising the price like eddie hearn suggested, but 50 bucks a month is ridiculous.
I watch DAZN for the fights. While commentary and production certainly add value, it's not expected at this point in their progression.
Good:
- Lots of fights
- Decent price if you're on the annual plan
Bad
- Terrible announcers and production
- Biased, agenda-driven commentary
- Vast majority of the fights are mismatches...definitely a quantity over quality
- Interviews of Eddie Hearn at every Matchroom show. Ridiculous.
Generally the undercards before the main card are complete mismatches, I agree. They need to STOP showing fighters with losing records against their prospects. Save that for the untelevised portion.
Production is definitely poor.
Commentary can be biased.
Eddie hearn just needs to stop.
Any other Americans see regular HBO and showtime at BARS??? And Restaurants?
Yes, absolutely. Everywhere from Hooters and Buffalo Wild Wings to local bars and pubs. Even Dave and Buster's pretty regularly.

Atlas and Kenny might actually be too much energy on one set.
As for my main complaint about DAZN: they haven't yet mastered the art of making an event feel big, feel like a huge PPV event. Quality of the opponent aside, Canelo's fights haven't felt like huge events ever since he has moved to DAZN. DAZN needs to work on the production quality.
On HBO, a little detail such as Max, Roy and Jim all wearing a tux for PPV cards helped set the tone.
Agree about the fact their cards dont feel like PPV events. They need to change up that ugly yellow color, need to have better lead up features to fights, and could desperately use a theme song like HBO had.
As of now if boxing(god willing) resumes in July, we may get:
Whyte-povetkin
Garcia-linares
Usyk-chisora
Joshua-pulev
An italy or spain card.
Not a bad month at all if you ask me!
C’mon
You gotta be kidding
I live in Canada and we don’t get HBO or Showtime ( back in the day ) but every bar had the fights on illegal sat
So , in reality , you just started watching boxing ?
This is no knock on Dazn but felt the need to ask
Even better if he has just started watching boxing, RDS/TSN has been doing a really good job of broadcasting Showtime cards in the last 2 years or so.
I would like them to bring roy jones or teddy atlas as a commentator. I do like brian Kenny however.
The library is great, but nothing that cant be done by going on youtube.
This summer is going to tell us a lot about the future of DAZN, starting mainly with the quality of feed.

I've been on the fence about DAZN the last two weeks, mainly due to our government and deception, BUT..I can confidently say:
I believe DAZN will succeed, and in fact, have the greatest last 6 month(July to december) stretch in boxing history. Think about this: there are so many fighters who need fights lined up, hearn and de la hoya are gonna have no choice but to load up the cards.
Fights I would like to see that I truly believe will happen this calendar year:
Whyte-povetkin
Usyk-chisora
Joshua-pulev
Garcia-linares
Canelo-golovkin 3
Vergil ortiz fighting for a world title
Joshua-usyk
Smith-Saunders
Prograis-hooker
Taylor-serrano
You don't need a smart TV to stream video. If it has an HDMI input all you need is a streaming device like a chromecast.
Ffs , you can run it through your kids Xbox or PlayStation
I’ve been to hundreds in Vegas and could never get one on.
So you paid for hbo/Showtime year round? Then put it on Saturday’s? I mean that’s cool. I ain’t hating. Maybe because it’s Vegas it’s way stricter??
I ain’t hating or judging
But tell you what that goes on across Canada
Fughin right , without charging at the door either
Just selling booze was a way of going
That’s why I was astonished cause here it’s actually quite normal
Mind you , now they have cracked down on it a bit but or else it still happens
No disrespect intended
But like I said , even being in Atlantic city I’ve watched fights at bars
And there you have it. Most old school boxing fans are cheapskates by nature. I’m not gonna purchase a new $400 television just to get DAZN nor am I going to watch it on my phone. That aside, I have no issues with DAZN programming and plan to subscribe when I buy a smart television.

No. And like you said it’s illegal why would they risk it? PPV was a different matter
Honestly, we’ve done it big fughin time
I’m Italian and all the bars across the city showed the fights
Risk , I tell you why , cause it was a great cash and a greater night
I’ve been down to AC a few times and the bars were showing fights
I don't understand these lagging issues with DAZN.... where do you all stay at? I pay 40 dollars for my spectrum internet and I live on a ****en island and have zero lagging with DAZN...
I don't get a lot of lagging but every once in a while the quality drops to something like 240p for a few seconds.
Any other Americans see regular HBO and showtime at BARS??? And Restaurants?
So your telling me that you couldn’t walk into a sports bar and watch the fights ?
Not here to argue , just find it very hard to believe
What fkn bars had hbo or showtime??? Not in USA
Maybe your bars did that Trublood and GOTH sht but that very rare
I’m in Montreal and every bar had illegal satellite
I myself owned a bar for 10 years and I had Direct tv

Good
You can watch boxing fights at bars and restaurants. Unless it was on PPV I couldn’t find any bars that had hbo or showtime that showed fights.
Any phone, tablet, monitor can get DAZN
C’mon

The good- for me I like the yearly option. I’d rather pay up front than monthly if I can. I paid for 2 years of Disney plus up front to get a nice price on it. In normal times it is a really good value. Lots of good old school fights and other content.
The bad- the interface, while better, is very sluggish and not very user friendly. The really need to invest in an overhaul of the app.
ive literally have had no istreaming ssues with DAZN since i first got it
not on my phone, on my pc, or my rokus attached to my TVs
2019 they put on great cards...esp the stretch they had in the fall
ive been satisfied with them...more than i have with espn+
The main reason I support DAZN is because they show between 5 and 7 fights per card, even more than pbc PPVs. ESPN plus does something similar, but the quality of the cards is often disappointing.
I have had an incredible amount of issues with DAZN since november, while I have yet to have an issue with espn plus.
I love the golden boy cards, but love hearns matchroom cards even more. The Thailand cards are generally a lot of fun, and I think the Thailand fanbase makes it so.
Bob arum has talked about bringing toprank to DAZN, hopefully he does so.
That's a positive step if they bring wwe to DAZN.
