Im talking about out-boxing the way Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard, Erislandy Lara etc fight. Especially now with the internet, cutting off the ring should be general knowledge.
I know these are great fighters and cutting off the ring wont instantly beat them but its not hard to cut off the ring and put a mover in the corner.
Will this style die out when more and more people figure out how to cut off the ring?
My solution
10 foot ring
electrodes attached to fighters
if fighter is more than 3 ft (1m) away from another fighter he gets electric shock
if fighters hug more than 2 seconds, another electric shock
round doesn't end until one person is knocked down
this should stimulate wars. screw that marquis of queensbury bs they call boxing.
instead of the sweet science we can call it the war science.
that will be great for 2 years
then... boxing will be banned
any change that makes this sport unsafer will yield HORRIFIC results
you can see how the world is changing
I think guys who feel that way should watch BKB... /problem
I know. The interview with Chavez Sr. went the same way. Sanchez said the same thing there, it's hard for Golovkin to hit with full force against an opponent that has good movement. I think it was right after the first Carnelo fight.
Then Senior cut him off with that classic line (in Spanish) : "you need to teach Gennady how to cut off the ring."
aah ok, I didn't hear that one

This post is all over the place.
First of all, sticking and moving and cutting off are not the same thing. :lol1:
Sticking and moving is self explanatory, stay bouncing on the balls and toes of your feet and let a combination go every other time you set your feet in range, rinse repeat.
Cutting off is laterally moving into the path of your opponent forcing them to either engage immediately or try to escape, ideally off balance.
And neither is easy to do unless you practice and fight or spar regularly. You can have the agility to bounce and conditioning to do it but throwing in movement and setting quickly is a skill and takes practice and good fundamentals or you're a time bomb waiting to be countered into oblivion. Cutting off takes good agility and high ring IQ and can be also countered by a high IQ, capable fighter. Just because you watch something on YT doesn't mean you can do it effectively.
And neither practice will die off, just like a rook in chess will never be obsolete.
What the **** has the internet got to do with it you never boxed never been to a boxing gym clueless keyboard warrior ****?
I box atleast 3 times a week boy i trap all these movers in the corner all night long its not hard
Sanchez said that because of that interview where Chavez Sr. told him to his face that he needed to teach Gennady how to cut off the ring.
He also told him that if Golovkin lost the rematch he should get the worst trainer of the year award. Ouch!!

It won't die out because boxers akready know how to cut off the ring. Most can't do it effectively against a skilled defensive fighter. I will only end when judges change their opinion on what constitutes defense versus simply running away. There is a difference between the two and it can be a fine line. If defensive fighting won't pack a casino or generate PPV the dividing line will change.

nah he was talking to Seckback about power
Abel told reporters that Golovkin has not used all his power in the ring yet
Seckback asked... when will Golovkin use all his power
Sanchez replied... lets hope somebody stands in front of him so that he can
all I was saying is, movement defuses power... it removes your opponents strengths... they knew that
it just seemed a prime current example showing why movement will always be effective
Why is sticking and moving still a thing he says ?? Like the way ali and leonard fought ?? Maybe Becuase its boxing and movement and a jab sets up everything you can possibly do in the ring . And those guys are all time greats, like TOP ATG's why wouldnt people want to use parts of guys like that's repitoir( even tho sticking and moving was utilized long before either of them ) . It is boxing 101 but to do it like the guys you stated is NOT EASY . Just like cutting off the ring is also NOT EASY , especially against guys like them . I don't know why I responded to this 1. The topic thread and content is confusing, the grammar is off ( so if u meant something other than what I've perceived I apologize ) . 2. U just asked why sticking and moving is still a thing in a boxing forum . Like cmon man . Prolly because its effective . It is tried tested and true and the guy who did it at the highest level were some of the best fighters to ever lace them up .

Have you ever tried to cut off the ring vs someone with great footwork and who’s significantly more athletic than you? What makes you think professional fighters simply haven’t “figured out” how to cut the ring off? Lol...I guess they can look it up on the internet.

it's not about... " figure out "
it's about... the leader is always quicker than the chaser
he knows where/when he is going
also, he knows when he is going to stop/feint/step > PUNCH
the best movers have you on a string
EASY to say... NOT easy to do... especially if the fighter has world-class footwork/ringIQ
EVERYONE said that Golovkin was a master at cutting off the ring
I heard that for YEARS
and yet, I got Sanchez admitting on video... that Golovkin is not the same fighter unless his opponent stands in front of him... that was back in 2014
it is easy to say... NOT easy to do

Its not as easy as it seems thats y. Ali and Leonard had fast feet and stinging jabs.
When a guy is quicker than you mentally and physically its very hard and very tiring trying to pin them down as they get quicker as you slow, the great boxers were also great conditioners that didnt get tired, most had respectable power to keep guys off so there was no walking through them.
What appears easy from outside the ring is not so easy when its in front of you.
