I can see why people would be againstit with the potential LW matches: davis vs
Loma , lopez , Garcia or haney ,but I dont see those fights happening right away. For some reason mayweather promotions is taking davis slow which imo is crazy he had insane momentum after pedraza and the british kid lee something I forget his last name . They should have capitalized on that but people started wondering after he didnt make weight for his last ibf defense .especially after he came back at the same weight after he claimed he had outgrown 130.it showed unprofessionalism and a lack of discipline . However it must be very hard to get these young kids who get overwhelmed with fame and riches to keep their personal life in order , the early 20s are prime time for young men / women to act out and have fun and explore walks of life . They want to have fun . The world is in the palm of their hands and they are world champions which essentially makes them bad mother****ers and the amount of women they can pull becuase broads hear they are a world champion fighter must be next level Haha. That being said I think this may be the reason that Mayweather promotions has taken their foot of the gas in terms of his matchmaking . If they think he may lose to a lesser foe due to this they will wanna protect their investment and keep him relatively safe til they can cash out then go from there . They seem to be waiting for the Loma fight and it's been mentioned so much people expect it , and with haney and garcia the social media banter has people wanting those fights and I think most assumed the leo fight would be at LW and that's not the fight we want when those other great matchups are looming . If the fight is at jr lightweight then it is a fight , and worth watching . And it's very winnable for tank on paper and leo is a multi weight champ /- former champ and hes beaten every man hes faced by avenging his only loss . Plus leo is mexican and the fight will sell huge in cali . I just think it may backfire. Leo is a top notch fighter , prolly a future hall of Famer already and hes active by todays standards . Hes a tough night for anyone if they cant hurt him . For me I gotta roll with davis and give him the benifit of doubt and assume he takes his first ppv seriously and shows up in top form . If he wins this fight impressively and goes after say the Campbell vs fortuna winner and gets another scalp there he will get Loma for sure assuming Loma stays unbeaten which is a whole other story . Lopez will be a tough match but I'll obviously be picking Loma. He is too smart . But I wanna see tank test the waters at LW more before he jumps off the deep end the gamboa fight wasnt very reassuring . I would personally rather see him stay at 130 if he beats leo and fight berchelt . That is a great fight but I know they are gonna go for the bigger names and money and iam okay with that , as long as he fights top names after leo win or lose .
His name is Liam Walsh. Good post again. Looking forward to how things develop.
Great post. I was against this fight. You've actually convinced me. I like Cruz too and followed him from the get. Nothing bad to say about him.
If people think this would be a good fight, let's have it. I'd prefer Cruz-Russell. Love to see Davis-Jo Jo Diaz. Jo Jo looked like a beast in his last fight, or even a Fortuna fight.

But I do see davis winning either way . And I wouldnt be surprised if he dominated leo , however I think its unlikely to happen , I could see more of a close fight that leo gets clipped and stopped in . I also have worries about davis's focus and conditioning . At 130 he is at his best , just hope he doesnt have to struggle to make weight and waste his camp doing so because he may gas and that Is what would give leo his best chance . There is alot of circumstantial stuff that can happen, but it is just that ,circumstantial. Skill for skill davis takes it on paper for sure . Size , power he takes that too . But leo is a live dog and moved to 130 for this fight iam guessing they see soemthing they think they can capitalize on . Would be a shame if we dont get to see it or have to settle for it at lightweight . I think davis took gamboa lightly plus the fight was at LW so iam not gonna take anything from that, and leo looked quite pedestrian vs flores and should have stopped him imo (If Nguyen can tko flores you would think leo could ) but again iam.not gonna take anything from that either . These two guys are both very talented fighters , one a warrior who grinds u down , and one an extremely talented and athletic boxer puncher with very heavy hands . Iam excited to see the outcome . There are alot of variables however I see what I see and think davis takes this . But LSC has the potential to win this . People are mistaken if they dont think he is a live dog . My main concern with him is how he handles 130 vs a beast like davis . Iam pretty confident he will make it a fight while it lasts . Just my two cents .

Good respectful argument. We'll see if it happens.

Altho I would pick davis I would be rooting for LSC and this is still a great matchup that leo can win. I dont know why everyone is counting him out and if I was to bet on this fight I would put money on leo as i think he will be an underdog and a very live one at that . If tank can't hurt him there is a good chance that he gets outworked .

Hi. I’m the guy on the top of the leaderboard who picked Helenius by KO in 4. You must be the other guy who didn’t. Gonna take a karazy leap of faith here and trust my own opinion above yours, guy who I never noticed before.
Good. Bye.

This fight is stupid. Make Russell-Cruz at 126 (since Santa's fans say he can make that weight). PBC matchmakers must be idiots.
I can see Floyd's greed.
That's the fight I wanna see too I think LSC should have stayed at 26 for this match but he said they werent getting anywhere in negotiations . That's the fight I wanna see too . But I'll take LSC vs davis at 130 for sure . Like I said in my other post I would pick tank for sure but it's also one of tanks toughest tests so far
He can't. If he can, why not fight there?
I remember reading when he moved up he said to 3 kings boxing he is moving up for now to chase titles in another weight division and try and get a fight with tank davis as being wba champ at feather he was the mandatory for davis belt if he moved up ,and they were getting nowhere in negotiations for gary russell . Santa Cruz can make featherweight still .
I don’t need to rely on resumes to determine who is going to win a fight like most newbs do. I can determine a winner based on their skill set, among other things.
Davis is bigger, stronger, younger and fresher, more skilled, and a southpaw KO artist. I can add more. Santa Cruz was a good, featherfisted boxer.

It wouldnt excite me as much at 35 . Too much weight to soon for leo . I wouldn't be surprised if he doesnt take it at lightweight. But this fight should be at 130 anyways that's where davis is at his best . As for LSC iam sure he could still make featherweight . I'll watch the fight at any weight , but at 130 it's the most compelling imo .
He can't. If he can, why not fight there?
Santa Cruz has it in him to start Davis down the path of Broner. Not sure why everyone thinks he’s a pushover.
Then I'll have to say YDKSAB.
Gervonta's punches might decapitate Cruz. Cruz is not a seasoned 135 pounder like Gamboa.
I feel sorry for Cruz if he takes this fight. What's his best win?
The bold: Isn't he a "champion" for one of the bogus belts? Once you are a champ, it's a fair game. He can't cry about it later, even if it's at 135. Don't take it?

You sound nervous as ****. No confidence in your boy toy?
Go fuck yourself. Stop talking to me. You have nothing valuable to contribute here. I'm stating my opinions. This is a forum.
This is a really interesting fight, and altho I'll be rooting for LSC. iam leaning towards davis to win this fight . If tank can not focus his whole camp on making 130 and has a good solid camp I think he will win . But there is a very good chance santa Cruz can outwork him and take a decision aswell which is what I'll be rooting for . WAR LSC!!! if tank isnt drained hes a tough out for leo at 130 . Leo has had one fight at jr lightweight and it wasnt exactly a fight to test the waters deep enuff for a davis , but leo is a warrior and I think either weight even 135 he gives a good account of himself but i think that's too big for him and his style .

At 135 Santa Cruz gets steamrolled IMO. He would be way too slow at that weight. Now at 130 I see it as a 50-50 fight. I think it's going to be more of a chess match though. Santa Cruz will stick to keeping his distance and counterpunching while Davis seeks the perfect shot.
Good analysis, except for the bold. I see it as an 80/20 fight.
At 135, I give Cruz zero chance. IMO, inactivity and lack of good opposition have done Cruz in. Smaller guys in their 30s are usually ancient. I don't think Cruz has much left.
It really also has nothing to do with weight. It's about skills and guts. Santa will lose either way.
