Ok so I'm not giving Wilder much of a shot at all to beat Fury in their three-peat.
But what if he does? What would you think about that and what should happen after?
Becomes a best out of 5
lmao, not even Pac Marquez could sell us a 5th
Then they would have to fight again. Wilder too prideful a guy to take his W and run off
You think so? His reaction to the loss does not give me a lot of respect for his character
AJ is still the prize to be had at HW. Wilder or Fury would be wise to pursue a fight with AJ before rematching one another. Either of them would want to get in before another possible AJ loss down the line.
Yeah I guess they're both really just jockeying amongst themselves for the opportunity to become the undisputed champion and beat one of the more well known fighters in the sport today.
Unfortunately that means we'll have to sit through another (probably) lopsided contest.
If Wilder wins he'll go into the trilogy as champion and come out as champion. And then move on to the next fight.
You don't have to win the 'series'. Who won the Bowe/Holyfield trilogy? And who rates higher in the ATG list?
Fury will still be much the superior boxer. Wilder will always be a poor boxer with an exceptional puncher's chance in any fight.
As the better boxer, Fury will be in a position to make huge fights. As a title holder Wilder would again be in a position to make huge fights. Wilder v Fury alone doesn't define the best of the era.
Anyway, I don't think the fight happens in July. And if it does, Fury is a huge favourite to win.
Good post.
I think if Wilder wins this one, Fury can continue to have a respectable career and still become the champ. Just not immediately.
But without this win, Wilder is in a pretty bad spot and a little old. It would be tougher, but not impossible, for him to lose again so badly and recover his career.
So looks like I've talked myself into believing that Wilder has more to lose with this fight. Fury has a little more cache since he has looked like a better boxer twice now, and has a win over a long reigning champion.
I would pray that you're right about July but, based on everything Wilder has done and said up to this point, I think he's serious about this third fight.

Yeah I guess that's what I'm really asking about. Would they fight again or would Wilder keep it moving to Joshua first?
I think Fury would probably rightly deserve a 4th, but idk if I care to see the 4th (or even the 3rd).

It’ll be a real fughin chit show
Honestly , I just don’t see Wilder giving Fury another chance unfortunately
He’ll move on and try fighting someone else although I can’t see him winning
wilder will need a ref that actually stops fury from walking towards him, kinda like a bayless on steroids
they both get another big payday i guess
but a ref that stops fury doing what he wants as much as possible will be vital for wilder, that can be arranged without difficulty of course
Obviously a fourth fight. It's not as though there is a stacked division. May as well cash in on the series.
