Dan was a great man indeed. Can't say the same for his brother Joe though. That dude is an all around prick. He sucks at commentating fights too.
Yeah Dan was known to be a sweetheart
Funny enough , I met Joe , he was ok with me but might have something to do with my rowdiness and raunchiness
But I have heard more bad things than good
Also Dan kept him in line somewhat
TGB Promotions :boxing:
Theyve been appaling. Apart from the 1 PPV, everything else has been mismatches that only get surprising results when a massive upset happens.
Hearn dominates it seems
Hearn seems to be dominating your azz too
I thought it was you couldn’t get his digh out of your mouth but now he’s taken you bareback
And you seem to enjoy it so much Kesha
Kesha , come out to playay
I think Hearn is more likely to throw one of his stars in a 50-50 fight so ill pick him, I think Oscar is similar but he is a much more unstable person, and falls out with his fighters, and generally seems to have issues maintaining good relationships.
I think the sooner the old school are out the better. Guys like Arum and Warren are more savvy match makers, but they marinate too much and only put their guys in tough match ups when it suits the company. They are also constantly in legal disputes with fighters.
I think Haymon is good for his fighters but not necessarily good for boxing overall. I do think he changed the game though, and opened fighters eyes to promoter greed and he was the first guy to really use an 'open book policy' with fighters, Hearn has also incorporated this, they've taken out flat fees and brought in transparency, and I respect that.
Back in the day someone like Don King or Arum would have given the star fighter a flat fee for a big fight and kept the profit for themselves, and in certain cases I'm sure fighters missed out on tonnes of money.
Matchroom leads 2020 so far. US cards have deep undercards (but underwhelming main events). UK cards range from average to good. The quality of non-ppv UK cards keeps declining though, but Kelly Vs Avanesyan is alright.
PBC had the biggest fight so far, but a lot of mismatches in 2020. Still waiting for the announcements of new cards, because there are still a lot of headliners who have no fight scheduled so far (Spence, Porter, Charlo, Charlo, Pacquiao (?), Eubank, Derevyanchenko, Ortiz, etc.).
Toprank also had Fury Vs Wilder and Inoue Vs Casimero and Lopez Vs Lomachenko, Berchelt Vs Valdez are really good fights. But also a fair share of mediocre fights: Stevenson Vs Marriaga, Eleider Alvarez Vs Seals, Conlan fight, Navarette Vs Santisima, Taylor Vs Khongsong.
Toprank also consistently has the weakest undercards.
Goldenboy isnt really in competition with the other three anymore. Canelo keeps Goldenboy alive, but they are in the progress of building Ryan Garcia and Vergil Ortiz to future stars.
How you gonna make a thread like this without including Don King? What kinda noob bullsht is this..
I guess you werent around in the 90s but Mr King provided fkin real PPV gems that included legendary names such as Chavez, Norris, Finito, and Sweet Pea all on the same card.
Not this pbc fkin weak bullsht and Bob Arum cant hold a candle to Don King either if we are talking about quality matchups.
Don King was the real deal. Thank you for the memories.
yet again u make urself look like a fool on this forum
when was the last good card king put on ffs u mong ?
Eddie obviously has more fights to be fair but he’s setup a number of really good ones in my opinion:
Just looking at heavyweights only in recent times see below. But he’s also really pushed the women fights and beginning to bring them into the sport - well ahead of other promoters who are now following his lead
Joshua vs Klitschko, Parker, Whyte and Povetkin
Whyte vs Joshua, Parker, Chisora (x2), Rivas and povetkin
Bellew vs Haye x2, Usyk (think that was cruiserweight)
Povetkin vs Joshua, Whyte, fury, hunter
Price vs Allen
It's because Haymon cares more about building PBC and doesn't want massive fights with rival promoters and Arum just doesn't have a great stable of fighters.
Hearn's deal with DAZN has to go down as one of the greatest boxing deals ever made
Yes. Which is why DAZN fights/fighters walked out with all the year end awards last year. Last weeks card was the best card so far this year too. Matchroom is killing it.
is it cause Hearn is new school younger while Arum and Haymon only care about protecting their fighters...
