It’s all opinion but Slappy Calzaghe with quicker hands than Pacquiao, Camacho, Meldrick Taylor?
Not then Not now not never. I’d rank Lomachenko over Calzaghe. Loma made the smaller Rigondeaux quit. Hopkins arguably best slappy to the punch.
Calzaghe shouldn’t be on that list IMO.
Oh I see.
I’ve said before on NSB I think he overachieved with his handspeed and heart bailing him out much like Wilder with his power and heart.
IDK if just handspeed and heart can bail you out. You need to be a good boxer to make handspeed work for you – look at Khan, he gets timed EVERY fight because he doesn't vary his offence enough.
I think SRL, Khan and Judah are the 3 fastest punching boxers i've seen. I also think Ryan Garcia seems to have blistering hand speed, though he's obviously untested. I feel like RJJ deserves a mention as well, he was incredibly fast with single shots, especially for his weight classes.
A lot of people are talking about SRR and how fast he was, I personally don't really feel like he was as lighting as the 3 above. Now I've seen a lot of footage on SRR, his power was sublime, especially at lower weights and his footwork was some of the very best, however I think people go a little crazy where he's concerned. I mean he was one of the ATGs for certain, but he wasn't perfect. He threw body shots like the upper half of his arms were frozen and got little hip rotation into them as well.
1. Sugar Ray Robinson
2. Roy Jones, Jr.
3. Sugar Ray Leonard
4. Floyd Mayweather, Jr. :lol1:
5. Joe Calzaghe
If you say lightning handspeed then:
1. Pacquiao
2. Joan Guzman
3. S.R. Robinson
4. Roy Jones
5. Muhamad Ali
You really put Calzaghe ahead of Pacquiao? Wow...
Andre Dirrell is the fastest boxer I have ever seen at his size (with single shots). This argument gets very confusing when you have noobs and and the uninitiated unknowingly blending their concepts of combination punching and the speed of a single punch. They see a shoe shiner like Calzaghe throwing 863 non extended punches in four seconds and to them that's handspeed. That is NOT handspeed.
Preach! My definition of handspeed is how fast you can throw punches while getting off 100% of your power. Which is why, when I think of handspeed, the first people to come to mind are Ray Robinson and Pacquiao. Those aren't light punches they're throwing.
What people need to understand is that anybody can be fast. I can throw a jab right now and have it be fast. You can go to YouTube right now and see till this day that Floyd Sr is fast. But if there's nothing on your punches it won't help you.

I like Andre Dirrell he seems like a genuinely person

I’ve never heard anyone claim Calzaghe had ATG hand speed before.
