Do you think that if Miley Garcia has fought more in his prime, had taken the right matchups, and not made the ill advised fight with Spence, that he could conceivably be a P4P champion and ATG?
Garcia would be rated higher from the public / media if he stayed with Top Rank and allowed them to navigate his career
TR would have done their Wizardry matchmaking and have everyone convinced he was the ATG of his era and have earned more trinkets in the process.
Garcia willing to be put on the shelf for years to be able to have control over his career he will almost certainly walk away with more $ then if he stayed with TR and probably still make the HOF after he hangs them up
Would you choose increased respect and opinions from the fans : media when you hang them up or the freedom to do what you want with your career and leave with a bigger bank acct
I know what I’d choose
I would choose the legacy.

I don't think Garcia looks a million miles away from Canelo's style at this point. He just doesn't have the same head movement or explosiveness but they are both compact, low volume styles that are fighting bigger men than themselves. The difference is that when Garcia stepped up to his absolute max weight, he fought the very best undefeated he could find. He came up short because Spence was just too big, not so much his size but more so his reach. Garcia didn't have too many answers to it and Spence didn't fade late either.
Garcia looked masterful against guys like Salido, he just doesn't do well against taller, rangier fighters.
You can say that about a number of fighters though. Sure, I suppose, hypothetically you can create any scenario for a fighter but I don't really see the talent. Lomachenko-Garcia could've got him a great, HOF level win, but he chose to move up and foolishly fight Spence so we'll never really know.
Of course. Spence was too big and too skilled. Look how chubby he looks at 147 still after a year of getting used to it.
140 should be his max weight but he likes his tacos too much probably. If it was up to him, he'd probably go to 160 to eat at all you can eat buffets more often.
