Forget that it is Wilder vs Fury. Forget everything about that fight.
In a boxing sense based on the rules do you think this should have been counted as a knockdown and a standing count given?
To me it looks like Boxer A takes an uppercut from Boxer B and would have gone down if the arm didn't rest on the rope?

No , no punch was landed .
There were two knockdowns however where one wasn't counted in the fifth ,unless this is a different angle ? What round is this you are showing ?
I think this might be the uppercut just from a different angle...so maybe the ref didn't see it, and thought their legs tangled?
Regardless, I stand by my original statement.
Depends. One of those 50/50 calls. He stumbled into the ropes, but there is an argument if they held him up or not. Saw a similar thing happen tonight and they were allowed to continue.
This is exactly what I was coming to say. It's all in the interpretation of "held up" by the ropes. Does bouncing off constitute being held by? I say no. If the rule read "prevented from falling" I would interpret it differently. I was too lazy to look up the NV statute, but 18VAC120-40-340 reads as follows:
It shall be ruled a knockdown when, as a result of a legal blow or series of legal blows, a boxer touches the floor with any part of the body other than his feet, or is being held up by the ropes, or is hanging on, through, or over the ropes without the ability to protect himself and cannot fall to the floor
When Wilder wins this will make it all that much sweeter since pretty much nearly everyone is counting him out, calling him trash, the worst heavyweight champ in history, the most unskilled boxer in history and even trying to throw more salt in the wound by claiming ghost knockdowns as Fury clearly didn’t even hit Wilder who’s legs were gone and clearly fell backward on his own!
Keep it coming so all the names I have listed will be saved and when the fight happens and afterwards we will see who’s here to give full credit and who is just a plain hater!
Put me down. I said from the jump Wilder has no boxing skill, just a right hand. Even worse, he regressed badly from the first fight. He gets beat just as bad the third time. Hes been figured out. He cannot fight going backwards.
No , no punch was landed .

I think it was in the 5th so might be the one you are talking about?
To me it looks like a uppercut right landed hence why he did the whole forced back dance thing.
Yeah it’s weird, you would think his corner would tell Bayless how Fury’s literally putting Wilder in a chokehold and then putting his entire body on his neck or even instruct Wilder to low blow Fury everytime he tries to wrestle him!
I’ve seen last fights where opponents tried to wrestle Wilder or get dirty and he makes them pay, was very weird to see how passive he was!
Sadly no ones talking how Fury’s dirty boxing was a key part in his win and also his trainer Sugarhill!
If Wilder fights dirty like Fury and wins, you better believe the fans are not going to hail him
a hero like they’re doing for Fury.

That is quite literally a part of boxing and you need to know how to avoid ending up in that position. When Fury throws a left hand jab and Wilder ducks under the punch he puts himself under Fury's arm, and gives Fury the opportunity to tie him up.
The clinching was not excessive and Fury also boxed well and fairly most of the time.
During the first fight Fury did not use his size or physicality at all...... he barely went inside and gave Wilder all the time in the world to time him with the right. Fury needs to use these tactics as Wilder clearly can't cope with pressure and rough-house tactics.
If anyone was ever considering robbing Wilder's house, just wait till he's carried some shopping in from the car and you have yourself a former HW champ who's unable to defend himself

Wilder making excuses while saying “no excuses” in the same sentence is not uncommon. Excuses seem to actually work often in boxing. It helps drive a rematch or next promotion. Saying u were in ur best shape and had the best camp sells the fight and then saying how u weren’t helps sell the next one. Still nobody is going to say Fury won because he was carried to the ring either. Hearns lost to a leg massage remember? Nobody apologizing to the fans or saying we got ripped off or will get a discount on the rematch. Sorry for screwing up, only got paid millions. We just suck it up and it sells air time and content, it’s boxing, if these things weren’t profitable to say it wouldn’t happen. Prize fighting after all.
I totally concur, it’s all about the money which is why I picked Fury in the rematch and now I’m going with Wilder!
I can’t go into details yet but this is about money and not about glory!
Put it this way, both guys will profit off each other “equally”, WIN, LOSE, or DRAW...I’ll leave that clue for you!
Wilder should come in the 3rd fight, if Fury wrestles again, and throw low blows, headbutts, elbows to the face, thumb his eye. After watching the rematch, Wilder has to be pissed as hell for not doing anything back in the form of dirty tactics after seeing Fury headlocking him, grappling, leaning his body on him, etc, to tire him out. Wilder needs to grow a pair and use some dirty tactics of his own.

Instead of this bs excuses why DW lost was his team came up with the worst game plan that took away his athleticism. Get top heavy , fight him toe to toe Which made fury job ten times easier when your taller and weight 40 pounds more Jay D worst trainer .
Your asking a lot of a former nfl player. Fury ancestors have passed knowledge down to fury.
Fury has too much pedigree for wilder
Wilder was never in the NFL. He played HS football.
Not defending anyone just stating the obvious that so many people are writing off a former world champ for over half a decade!
The excuse is separate from this and has nothing to do with what I said!
Many champions throughout history has made excuses for their losses or performances, I’ve heard excuses even worst than the costume excuse Wilder pulled!
People are overreacting because they don’t like Wilder for whatever reason and that’s fine but when he wins, I will be here to see the same people blasting him either give him full credit or make up excuses and not give him credit!
I will separate real boxing fans from the haters and fanboys!

that was just wilder thinking about how heavy his costume was.

Like I said there are a lot of things in play here that I can’t go into full details that will make the difference!
I’ve seeninterviews of Jay Deas talking about boxing and he actually has a smart boxing mind!
I think they didn’t anticipate Fury doing some dirty boxing and using his size to the fullest advantage!
Now they know and adjustments will be made and can be made!
There were lots of opportunities for Wilder to land some good shots but was too focused on the right hand!
Fury vs Wilder 3 will separate the fanboys and the real boxing fans!

Wilder has lost 17 of 19 rounds to Fury how is he going to beat Fury in 3rd Fight ? Fury and every Heavyweight now knows Wilder can’t fight on the back foot . You remember back in the Olympics that small dude fought Wilder up close back him up to win the bout
All that fight showed was that Wilder can’t wrestle away a guy who has a 43lb weight advantage on him. If any other current HW tries to grapple with Wilder like Fury’s big ass did, they’d likely suffer a KO.
If you fall to canvas as your legs aren't strong enough to keep you up (as it's not a sli p) its either a kd or ref should stop fight.
Fury knocked wilder downt 4 times

The problem with that is they've fought him before and they know Fury felt robbed and determined not to get it get to the judges this time. Wilder being undersized to every heavyweight but yet unprepared to deal with the possibility of someone using their size is exactly why I'm picking against him if he keeps those trainers. They suck
There was another two KD that wasn’t counted for Fury and then he had a point deduction in the 5th round. I think they tried everything to level or help Wilder as much as they could. What they couldn’t help with is the look on Wilder’s face, that look was priceless... It’s like he has just seen the boogeyman and his life was coming to an end. That’s why am glad he had a boxing man in his corner, someone who recognised that look at fear for his fighters life, they have a rematch clause, you live to fight another day.... Respect to Breland.
I remember at some point earlier Bayless said I'm going to start deducting points. At the beginning of the round Wilder either hit on the break or behind the head and he froze, about to warn Wilder (realizing in real time he couldn't warn w/ out deducting)and then just let him off the hook. It didn't really matter though because even with the point deduction on Fury the round was a wipe out.
