If he weren't too close to the situation to see it clearly, I have no doubt in my mind he'd have thrown in the towel too.
To sit there as an observer, and to see the amount of damage his fighter was taking, any reasonable and responsible person would have pulled their man out.
Wilder knows boxing and as dumb as he sounds sometimes, he's a learned student of the game, he would have been able to see that there was no coming back from the beating he was currently receiving.
He can cry all he wants, but anyone with two brain cells to rub together knows he wouldn't sit there and watch somebody suffer a career and potentially life threatening injury.
Mark meant well but I think he messed up because Wilder said he has always told his entire team to never throw in the towel under any circumstances and that is very clear. The head trainer also told Mark not to throw in the towel shortly before he did. So he disobeyed orders from the boxer he works for and the head trainer. He did not save Wilder from anything because the ref said he was about to stop the fight at the time the towel was thrown in. The ref is there to stop fights when it is called for and they are stopping them pretty early these days. If Wilder had never told his team not to ever throw in the towel and Mark was the head trainer then he would have every right to stop the fight if he thought it was best. But that was not the case at all and he overstepped his authority.
He didn't over step ANYTHING if you listen to Jay! Jay said there's no HEAD anything in Wilders corner they don't work like that...So he did what was best! Wilders ****ty Ego is just hurt that's why he's talking like this!
If Brealand is getting even 2 percent of Wilders pay he damn well better jump through hoops if he wants him too for that kind of money. If my boss wants to go down like that so be it I'd have to find another job. Breland may have to anyway for not following directions
Breland did what he thought was right but I gotta agree with what your saying. If you value your job then you may want to listen to your boss. In this situation Wilder was the boss.
Boxing is different though. How many other jobs can your boss die through your negligent inaction? If Wilder had been beaten so bad his career was over, Breland is out of a job anyway.
