Just take a look at the mans legs, you can tell he can’t handle 40 extra lbs. It may seem like a lame excuse but I believe he believes that’s what messed him up. But I also believe costume or not Fury was gonna KO him regardless just maybe not that soon
100m isn't miles either, 40lb isn't 100lb. They'd still be fresh as a daisy with such lightweight. This is a pro athlete that trains and uses his legs everyday, saying walking 100m with 40lbs will ruin his legs is pathetic. You're the dumb one defending this pathetic ****.
Did i say it ruined his legs? Didn't i say i wasn't giving him a pass?
Im just being honest about yall stupid comparisons.
Going into a figh your suppose to be fresh? Yes or No?
Wilder seemed to be a bit too tight and very anxious in the dressing room. He kept pacing back and forth on the floor instead of just relaxing like Tyson Fury did. Andre Ward called it correctly when he called it nervous energy. I am very saddened and hate to say this but I believe that Wilder lost this fight before it even started.
Lol...so now you can tell what material it is and how much weighs by looking at it. You guys are awesome. Plus, he said it's just about 3 stone - not significantly more. Nor have i seen anyone suggests it weighs significantly more.
I never said anything about "significantly more", I just said "more", and, the last time I checked, 45 lbs is more than 42 lbs.
As for the materials, I'm making an assumption, yes, but even assuming that it's made of metal instead of plastic, it still weighs nowhere near 45lbs.
Anyone who buys this bs excuse is more deluded than the idiot who thought it sounded plausible enough to state it in the first place.
Anyone who actually believes that a few bits of plastic, a cape and some LEDs weighs more than 3 stone is a special kind of stupid.

Bossman, I start to think that this is Deontay's burner. It's time to stop, you start sounding more delusional than Wilder.
You're telling me that a beast of an athlete who regularly trains with a 45 pound vest is affected by walking 200 ft with a 45 lbs costume? If you really believe it does, then it's no point continuing this conversation...
You're shrinking the context in order to make a point appear more valid. But the context should be expanded to the proper scope to reflect what it actually is. If he trains with a 45 pound vest, then clearly that puts strain on him, otherwise why train with that weight? Furthermore, its not just wearing the vest and walking 200ft. It's doing it over the course of 20 mins with no rest. Your logic basically states that because he trains with 45 pound vest, he should be able to do that training right before a 12 round fight with no significant loss stamina. Such a conclusion from that premise has non-sequitars all over the place. In fact it's even contradictory because the only way it could be true is if 45 pounds causes little to no significant loss of stamina which would defeat the purpose of training with it.
GTFOOH with sources. Go look up how much body armor weighs. If petite female soldiers can wear that shyt all day in blazing heat, a 6'7" boxer should be able to handle 30 minutes worth of 40-pound costume. Besides, Deontay is a dumbass for wearing it in the first place. He had to have known how heavy it was and how long he would be wearing it. Stop!

That's two fairly random articles i found, i believe just referring to men. They actually say the soldiers gear can weigh between 60 to around 119 pounds depending on the mission. It also says that those weights are actually crippling the soldiers because they're way too heavy. And they're mostly just walking and have rest periods. Now simply imagine that weight concentrated mostly in your legs and then imagine getting involved in a 12 round fight immediately after vs a fresh guy who didn't do any of that. You're telling me that 45 pounds wouldn't take a few rounds worth of stamina out of your legs after 20 mins and walking 200ft?
The problem with the hyperbolic examples you guys use is that they don't make clear how much work is actually being done with no rest, which all that matters. I can bench press a 45 pound barbell all day and all night with breaks in between. That does not mean i can bench press it for 20 mins straight with no breaks, that's a huge amount of work when not including any recovery or rest periods. No soilder can walk around with a 100 pounds worth of weight for 20 mins straight and then compete in a cardio competition fresh immediately after, it's humanly impossible. They'd gas out in a few mins. Again if this isn't true, then how can a fighter gas out during a measly 36 min cardio session with rests every 3 mins when other people can wear 100 pounds vest for hours? Clearly the vest is way more work right? See how clearly missing from that logic is focus on the specific amount of work done by what body part and for how long with no rest breaks. If you don't include that info, then it's not really saying anything.
And i agree it's Wilder own fault fir wearing and i think he'd have lost anyway and that Fury's gameplan was the main reason he lost. I'm just saying the costume excuse, if true, is also a reason.
I don't see how this proof of anything. So you're saying by admitting that he trains with a 45 pound vest, that's proof that wearing one for 20 mins and walking around 200ft has no significant on his stamina in a 12 round fight? There's no connection between the two unless he also said then starts his 12 round fights, which he did not. And I mean even if that were proof that his stamina was not affected, why would he train with a weight that was so light and easy to move around in? It's a contradiction.

Please cite your source for this. Wearing a 40 pound vest would eventually just slow you down and make you a target. Hard to believe this is worn all day. Furthermore, are these combat circumstances ones that use a huge amount of cardio for hours with no rest breaks?
You guys seem to have a misunderstanding about what the body is capable of over a long period of time. The way you all talk it's a wonder how it's possible to gas out after a few rounds in ufc or boxing at all. I mean there are people out there carrying more than a 5th of their bodyweight for 8 hours or more without rest and are perfectly fine apparently. I measly 36 min 12 round cardio session should be nothing at all.

So let’s say we believe this excuses out of the 7/8 that he himself threw out there, why did he wear that sh it? What part of that costume represent black history month? Didn’t he has any fittings before putting it on? Am sure they had to make it his size and everything, which meant he would have tried it on 2/3 times before giving them the go ahead.

A 5'1" female soldier wears a 40 pound flak vest in combat zones all day long. Not mention all the other gear and weaponry. GTFOOH with that bullshyt excuse.

Wilder's leg routine:
A 25-pound vest, a pair of 45 or 50lb dumbbells, then going up and down the 21 steps at his gym for three minutes at a time, with a minute of rest in between — akin to how boxing matches unfold — and varies his movements from one “round” to the next.
"Oh my goodness, that right there . . . that’s why I know my legs are strong enough,” Wilder said with a chuckle. “That’s my least favorite workout. I hate that one.”

That’s a fooking soldier trained to that specifically!
