Be honest, do you think Wilder has the mentality and toughness to bounce back, considering the magnitude of the loss and the outpour of excuses he's been dishing out lately? Some of his excuses and dishonesty on the loss is just ridiculous and he's starting to show his true colors. It's hard for me to see him fully recover after a beating like that and being in denial on why he lost.
I think Fury is to him what George Foreman was to Joe Frazier. If he runs it back this year he is going to take an even worse beating especially with Jay Deas continuing as his head trainer.
I don't think Fury will be in the sport much longer to be honest.
Wilder can get beat again and still come back with a few good wins and take on a Whyte or Joshua.... probably the two biggest fights for him outside Fury.
Depends on himself and his mentality, a couple KO's against top 10's can improve his cv and get him back in the mix.
Speaking to Yahoo Sports, Wilder said:
He didn’t hurt me at all, but the simple fact is that my uniform was way too heavy for me. I didn’t have no legs from the beginning of the fight. In the third round, my legs were just shot all the way through. But I’m a warrior and people know that I’m a warrior.
It could easily be told that I didn’t have legs or anything. A lot of people were telling me, ‘It looked like something was wrong with you.’ Something was, but when you’re in the ring, you have to bluff a lot of things. I tried my best to do so. I knew I didn’t have the legs because of my uniform.
I think Wilder is brain damaged. Losing the HW Title of Alabama has clearly affected him.
If he is daft enough to take a third fight against Fury he might very well end up seriously hurt. His best bet is fight a few more lower end fighters (just take his pick from his past record) or retire.
getting ktfo and quitting is a lot more physically/psycologically damaging, if you quit once you can and will again
Nope, Cotto came back from it.
Problem is how Wilder is sounding now, dude is talking about conspiracies...
He sounds mentally broken, he needs a shrink at this point.
Dude is in total denial and will probably be agressive with and reject people trying to make him realize he got beat from pilar to post and need to go back to the drawing board PERIOD
Breland salvaged Wilder’s chances of pursuing his heavyweight career. (Damn shame Deontay doesn’t seem to realize this.) I think Wilder will do okay moving forward, if he indeed chooses to continue. He’ll lose in the third installment to Fury, but Deontay is still a force in the division. He can still knock the socks off most.
Yeah, his corner threw the towel in to save him. Not a better look.

i think he can we just have to wait and see, he got beaten by the bigger better man but he never packed it in or quit, also didnt get knocked out clean, if he takes a lil time off he should be fine. r and r should do the rick, he hasnt had a lot of wars. the main thing will he be psychologically recovered.

He's starting to remind me a lot of kovalev after the first ward fight, and this is coming from a kovalev fan. Too many excuses, and too much talking. He's blaming everyone under the sun except himself. After being surrounded by yes men his entire career, the paper thin walls of his castle are coming tumbling down. I think that physically he is fine, but there might by psychological damage there. The man that he put on his ass twice and claimed that he had pillow fists just walked him down, beat him bloody, and made the corner save him. He needs a shrink rather than an improved boxing strategy.
This is much worse than Kovalev.
He's making Kovalev sound like Buddah
I don't want a rematch, we have seen who is better.
Fury beat him Mayweather style the first time and now GGG style by TKO.
Fury won't have the same motivation and a third fight would be a snooze fest with Wilder having a puncher chance wich is not fair or interesting if you ask me.
Fury needs to fight Joshua to keep him on track mentally and sport wise.
And Deontay "Excuses squad" and race card entrance doesn't deserve a shot next, get a trainer, stops Ruiz and get a new shot.
He will bounce back he was saved from further punishment so can fight another day.
Only problem now his opponents will think they can chin him.. If a man who abused himself can, so can they

AJ has just avenged his only loss , huh? Ha
AJ is the man to defeat and I have him stopping Fury .
AJ ran from on overwieght guy who didnt train much in Ruiz. He never engaged. Common now Fury beats Joshua down Mentally before the fight and you know it.

He still can give us entertaining fights with Hunter, Ruiz, Martin, whoever. After Fury beats him again, he will become a gatekeeper and those guys will fight him. But he will never be at top again, Fury is too much for him and I believe Joshua also.
But, mentally, he is broke. he is in denial, he has too many excuses. That is why I believe he is done at elite level.
Based on his recent comments after his brutal defeat, no, the guy's in denial. When Fury beats him for the 3rd time will he then be humble and accept that he is not good enough? I dont think so.
he hasnt taken much damage in his career outside of the oritz and fury fights. most of his fights were under 6 rounds so he has plenty of career left. but mentally he has to get back on track
Nah, stick a fork in him, he's done. Fury has ended his career, Deontay will turn up for a final payday and beating, then retire.
Physically he is fine and will always be dangeorus, but emotionally i dont know if he can. Same with Joshua. I am not sure Joshua will ever reach full potential either.
