Started late at the age of 20, made the Olympic team, medaled at the Olympics, became a heavyweight champ, and made enough money to provide for his grandchildren. How many fighters that learned boxing as an adult have accomplished anywhere close to this at Heavyweight or any other division?
He was carefully protected guy. He fought PBC guys only and Euro bums. And old has beens. Had no intention fighting Parker or Whyte. But one cherry pick went wrong, when he thought Fury was damaged goods.

He was well protected.
Plenty of fighters have been protected(All prospects are protected especially when they don't have a deep amateur background like Wilder and Saul Alvarez), plenty of failed football players have attempted boxing. How many of them do you know that made an Olympic team and medaled at the Olympics against guys that have been boxing since childhood. You may not like him but put things in perspective.
Definitely an overachiever. In the mode of Ricky Hatton and A. Joshua.
Nah more is expected of Joshua and he has done more than Wilder has in a faster amount of time.
