Andy probably has the best chin in the heavyweight division, good boxer, fast and hits hard. Wilder has size advantages and I could see him catching Andy coming in, but i could also see Andy walking him down and taking him out...in fact I'd put money on Ruiz, especially if hes had a good camp
Agree to disagree, anyone that has spent any amount of time in a boxing ring would tell you the same.
Amir Khan, very fast feet, not great footwork.
Miguel Cotto, slower feet, very good footwork.
Feet arent just about speed, they are about pivoting, twisting, shuffling, sliding to create punching angles, evading, maintaing balance, and creating the right distances. Only the last part has much to do with foot-speed.
You are WRONG
Agree to disagree then tell me I'm wrong, lol. Cotto did not have slow feet he was excellent at closing. Khan had terrible footwork but he wasnt particularly fast with his feet either, he simply has fast hands.
You cant have slow feet and good footwork, I couldn't care what you say because You're wrong
No if you have slow feet then you have poor footwork, it's not different, if you are unable to close the distance or get away from shots because you have slow feet then that means your footwork is poor.
AJ doesnt have the best footwork but he was running rings about Ruiz in the rematch

He doesnt have poor footwork he has slow feet, big difference. I agree that Wilder can catch him coming in, and obviously in certain areas height is a disadvantage, but Andy has a pretty good guard, and actually that coupled with the short height makes him a small target. A guy like Fury, who is quite active, doesnt throw everything hard and flicks a lot of punches would probably break Andy up but Wilder doesnt do that. He has a good jab, and right hand, but Fury exposed him a bit, in the sense that if you get past those two punches he doesnt defend himself too well on the inside, and cant fight on the fly like Joshua did at times in the rematch. My gut tells me that Andy's chin and defence will hold up
I like the style match up, tbh Wilder doesnt need this type of match up right now, but down the road it's very interesting and as I said my money is on Andy

Sure if he can get close (a big if) Ruiz is technically Mich better than Wilder and has the power to get him out of there, but being short and extremely fat with poor footwork doesnt help him get close to Wilder and if Wilder has space he will hurt Ruiz

I'm not sure about that, he is 2 levels above Stiverne even when Stiverne was good. I think if Ruiz can get through the first 4 or 5 rounds, he might get to Wilder in the mid rounds start putting it on him and stop him. Ruiz can hit and he can really put a variety of punches together. I can see him stopping him in 7 or 8

If andy mauls wilder it’ll be a short night for wilder too.
Wilder doesn’t have the movement to pot shot, or the skills to keep his opponents at a distance... he can time andy coming in.. but what if andy can take it?
This is a good fight to be honest but i’ll favor andy ruiz because of the style. Let’s mix them heavys up as long as aj vs fury is the priority
Without tacos, beer and a with a proper training camp i would favor him against Wilder.
His fast hands and chin would be too much for a mediocre boxer as Wilder.
Amen son, amen

This would be a very bad match up for Wilder right now
A guy who is fast and can slip jabs and get on the inside
Wilder cant fight on the inside
A none fat Ruiz beats Wilder rn
Wilder needs a guy who he can walk down
Nah fatboy Ruiz doesnt have the footwork to close the distance

My bad if I took you wrong.
But the fact Ruiz isnt ANY good. He has done nothing in boxing besides MAYBE catching AJ on a bad day.
He hasnt even beaten ONE top 10 guy.
I dont see how he wins any fantasy fight
I disagree, I think hes very good, he just doesnt have good feet, but neither does Wilder. Hes beat Joshua, and lost a razor thin decision to Parker both of those guys have pretty good feet. If Andy stays motivated, he will still have a say in this division
ruiz sucks. his short arms would make him a highlight reel KO.
in the second fight joshua had him hurt multiple times, bu the was too ***** to follow up
I'd favour Wilder but wouldnt surprise me if it was a very tough fight. Ruiz clearly has a very good chin, I dont think most other opponents would have reacted as well to Joshuas shots as he did, he was dropped by an uppercut/hook combo in the first fight which was followed by a clean full power right hand. Even in the second fight where Joshua supposedly ran he got caught clean with a big full power left hook. Hes got that Mexican chin. Also hes pretty good on the inside, fast hands, good combos, decent power and hes scrappy.
I'm not that guy, always call them how I see them. I made a thread before the first fight that if Joshua wasnt on his game Ruiz could beat him. Stylistically he is very tough for Wilder

Smh. STILL trying to save face for AJs lose to Ruiz. Lmao.
Let it go.
