Other than fattening bank accounts, what is the point?
If anything I'd like to see the Matchroom fighters step up to the plate now. Maybe AJ-Wilder and Fury-Whyte, with the winners of those two facing off.
Fury is without a doubt #1 now though. Don't think III makes much sense for either fighter in the immediate future.
Thoughts?
If it's in the contract he has the right to it, but yeah it's going to be a tough sell when the undisputed fight is right there, but Wilder and his team don't care about that obviously.
I'd like to know the details of the rematch clause, like what network etc, any guarantees or splits, at this point I just don't see it being compelling.
This wasn't a case like Joshua dropping Ruiz then rushing in for a big finish and getting clipped and never recovering. Fury's schooled Wilder for two fights now, and this one was not even close, a rematch with Otto would honestly make more sense, seriously.
I think Wilder probably takes the rematch, takes the payday and unless Fury comes completely unprepared retires Wilder.
If they do take the rematch the excuses are going to start soon and they'll come thick and fast, it's going to take a lot to sell a third as competitive after that.
I think wilder should have a few tune ups before facing tyson again man but not even the public would take a third fight seriously at this point, wilder was destroyed badly. This reminded me of a heavyweight version of Margarito/Cotto I
The gyppo has won twice now. Who the hell wants a third! The world wants to see fury v AJ for a proper unified champ. And it has to be in the UK. THE NEW HOME OF BOXING.
Fury's a better boxer. By a long, long way.
When the better boxer is also the bigger man, it's not competitive. Or at least 9/10 it's not competitive.
Flab, muscle. Doesn't matter. He's just a bigger man. He was hurting Wilder with jabs.
If a 10 tonne truck hits you, you don't ask what capacity the engine was. Fury was hitting him with 273 pounds of mass behind him. The only way the smaller guy can win is to be better - and he's a long way short of that.
Wilder has a reach close to fury and was 230 lbs of iron hard muscles. His problem is not being too light, his problem is being completely unable to adjust and let a fat a.ss outbox and grind him.
Horrible ring IQ
Fury Josh is the fight, i think Josh is a better all around boxer than wilder. Stronger, smarter, better inside game, better défense, better oppo fought
I always picked Josh over wilder, boxer punchers like Josh béat crude punchers like wilder
I agree that Joshua is a better fighter than Wilder and I've always believed that. People were delusional believing that AJ didn't stand a chance against Wilder just because AJ was stopped by Andy Ruiz. Boxing fans that were confident that Wilder was gonna KO Fury were delusional too. There's a long history of foolish fans becoming infatuated with big punchers, believing that they're indestructible and the same thing always happens...The big puncher gets his ass beat to a pulp or gets KO'd by the better technical fighter. Many people could see that happening with Wilder but way too many fools thought this fight would be an easy KO for Wilder.
Serious question, why does Fury have to fight Whyte? I remember Fury said he'd fight Whyte as one of his last 3 fights or something? But why? Why not fight AJ and call it a career. Or Wilder had he lost or had it been close but there's no need to fight Wilder for the rubber!
Said he wanted to reward him for always taking the tough fights and never getting a shot at the title. He later changed it to Chisora cause he promised him a third fight.
Fury is too good for Wilder and has his number. Styles make fights though and Wilder with his power can still have a career.............as a commentator.
Im just kidding I would like to see him against Whyte.
3⃣ Deontay Wilder's co-manager Shelly Finkel has indicated that they WILL activate their clause for a trilogy fight with Tyson Fury next. Trainer Jay Deas added that he also believes Wilder will definitely want to face Fury again next.— Michael Benson (@MichaelBensonn) February 23, 2020

The fight I'd want to see is the undisputed fight obviously. But if Wilder wants to exercise the rematch clause, that's his right. It's just not nearly as interesting as Fury vs. Joshua.
I gave Wilder a total of zero (0) rounds tonight.
let the rivalry end tonight.
then end
I'm quite sure that nobody gave Wilder a single round. He had almost no success even for brief periods. This was an absolute domination and it was a brutal domination. I feel really bad for Wilder. He showed class in the post fight interview though, so he definitely gave a good showing there.
Got to consider that III to Deontay Wilder means a shot at redemption, his only immediate route back to a title, and maybe $10-20 million? I wonder if it is an IMMEDIATE rematch, or is there room for a tune up or two...

The fight to make is Fury vs Aj.. winner is the greatest of this era. We want an undisputed. No need for trilogy even wilder knows it inside him he doesn’t want it..
He trained ultra hard for it and still got his ass beat. What he gonna do next? Hope the right hand lands again? It landed multiple times this fight and nothing happened
