if Ryan is the goods he should stop Linares, who would be a nice scalp....was recently a champion and is a very skilled fighter. Linares is about to enter gatekeeper status, i dont think he can compete with the likes of Haney, Loma, Lopez and Tank, it would put Garcia up there with them
Ive known about Linares since they were talking him up on HBO because of his fast hands. I saw him start fast against Demarco(another average fighter) like he always does just to get taken apart late. Afterward a tune up in mexico destroyed him followed by him running his ass back to Japan to face no hopers. Here is Fury giving the same sentiments.
I'll be straight, I've seen enough of your posts to know you clearly do watch boxing, so look past my hyperbole there. I just feel even despite Linares imperfections as a fighter, past rough patches and losses in frankly spectacular fashion that that description undersells him somewhat. As many have said this fight will be very revealing for Garcia (and somewhat for Linares, as to just how much is left there) and that it is being put together at this early a stage (assuming it comes to fruition) warrants a certain credit in of itself imo as even a diminished Linares feels to me like he could make the night goes sideways for Garcia and rob that ascent of a lot of momentum. A strong win, whether by landing one of those highlight hooks fairly early on or over a hard fought battle in which Ryan really comes into his own and eventually breaks Linares down will get full credit from me. Even a loss for Garcia (decision or late stoppage by Linares) that comes by a similar route will go a long way toward legitimacy for Garcia in my eyes. Right now I'm mostly just second guessing whether this fight really is up next, honestly.
This kid got serious power but is still green, hype him up and build him up first. Linares can wreck him, if they get caught slipping overlooking him.
- -U preferring sissy development no surprise.
U still ride sidesaddle?
If he is going to be this huge star he has to take risks and possibly lose. If he keeps fighting 25 to 1 underdogs he will never lose and never be a big star. He says he is ready for anybody. I think he can stop Linares and he is not overlooking him. He would not be that foolish and neither would the guys on his team. Linares looked very good and he is a threat but he is supposed to be a threat as would the other guys Garcia wants to fight like Tank. It's time for Garcia to put up or shutup and with his hand speed and accurate power with both hands I think he will do good. Lightweight has lots of very good fighters now and he has to fight some of them soon or lose fans and money.
Zero defensive skills? Are you some kind of idiot? And cited as a "weakness" relative to Garcia, of all people? Do you even watch boxing or just scurry though Boxrec results like a hamster on methamphetamine?
Lmao great post . Linares is a phenomenal boxer when he doesnt trade , altho he is shot if u read my above post if Garcia outboxes him and dominates over 10-12 I will be very impressed linares is a great boxer . Just falls short in the chin and ring iq department ( as he abandons his boxing and goes to war ) .

Everyone will actually see his power is not huge like it is looking right now if he gets to the top , and if he falls in love with it he will have problems . Hes fast as **** tho and a great prospect . Linares is shot . And chinny . If garcia outboxes him and dominates him that I will be very impressed . If he just blasts him out it wont do anything for him this kid needs rounds
Yea, Linares has had suspect defense at times, but he's superb offensively. The real question is if Ryan's chin can hold up, he's gonna be in the ring with a very dangerous fighter & Ryan tend to swing wildly & poke his chin out, we'll find out in May.
Happens sometimes. There are a lot of moving parts here. I still think you’re underestimating Linares a great deal though. King Ry better not do the same or that’s all she wrote for that undefeated record. Going in looking to land a bomb simply won’t work. If you think it will then I’m sure you think Wilder is about KO Fury as well. That just doesn’t fly at a certain skill level.
I could be but Linares is a perfect step up opponent. He has poor defense and he cant take punishment. Factor in Garcia being a large lightweight with power and most boxing minds including Delahoya and Hopkins can foresee how this fight will play out. I would be more impressed with Garcia stopping Luke Campbell(Yes I know Linares beat him) who is more durable(See Campbell and Linares respective fights with Loma)
Someone who doesn’t watch boxing with a critical eye would reference a YouTube fight. They have time for that sort of trash because they can’t differentiate between the skilled and the unskilled. No wonder you think Linares isn’t any good.
You're mistaking me for someone else.

Linares has zero defensive skill and isn't tough compared to his peers. You need at least one of those two.

I thought the same then remembered Pablo Cesar Cano blasted Linares out in 1 round at 140lbs. Ryan is a big 135 pounder, much bigger than Linares. Linares is crafty but I see Ryan’s power taking him out before the fight finishes.
When people were pointing out examples of blown Jack Reiss calls, your one example came from the Paul VS. K.S.I. fight, correct? I rest my case.
What are you talking about?
Quit trying to talk up Linares. If a slow Demarco could stop him and some journeyman in Mexico destroy him then he isn't that good. Having flashy hands doesn't make you a good fighter. He is a poor man's version of Amir Khan who's best days are behind him.
Lmmfao! You dont know sht about Boxing.
My thoughts exactly, a lot of people really have no clue about Linares given how poorly he seems to be rated on here. The guy is an excellent boxer technically
I think Garcia might be an A level fighter. Linares is B- at best.
If Garcia really is elite he will beat Linares no problem. Linares is a solid fighter but Garcia is better even green as he is
