Most people talk about casuals but I have never seen a more bigger bag than this sport. No one on this forum can name a boxing prospect but when I go on any NFL, NBA, MLB, soccer forum I see all type of prospect Analysis.
Y’all are Basura
I don’t tag my threads and I often forget about anything I post within an afternoon or so. Doesn’t matter to me since my brain is an brilliant chit factory that is constantly turning out brilliant chit ha.
The prospect guy is a thankless job. I do mean job in every sense of the word as you have to sift through an endless stream of b.s. to find the diamonds. It’s all to point out some kid that is around the corner who you won’t be able to put money on any time soon anyway. Not to mention it makes you lose touch with what is happening in the big leagues. I’m right where I want to be as a fan in regards to how my attention is spread.
That's fair enough, man, it's the kinda thing you're only gonna do if you really wanna anyway. That said Ima give it a shot myself, for my own pleasure and learning... see whether I can't get something going.

:lol1: Made a start already as it happens...
UFC fighters only make 16% of the revenue this is every unfair to the fighters but this is keeping the fights active fighting the best (fighting each other)..
Boxing problem is sanctioning bodies not forcing the fights , and promoters overpaying for mismatches

I kind of agree with you, i don't pretend to know why it is but i believe is cuz this sport is so manipulated by business that is not even important if the kid is a good or bad boxer, the casual lead the revenue.
I talk about prospects with the people that knows them, mostly about locals, i totally understand what u r saying.
Pretty much a useless thread. As if this is a normal sport where fighters fight 2-3 times a year. Man you hardly see these fighters on a regular basis.
Then make it your business to tell people about 'em, man.
Gonna say the same as I did to MySpace though... these things can take some time to get going. If that's what you wanna talk about though stick with it and the serious dudes on here will apreciate it.
I do.. no one knows boxing
...my comment wasn't intended as discouraging or antagonistic btw. I'd welcome more threads and discussion like that to hover over like a vulture and get back to a point where I could actually fire off a respectable meaty prospect list. Definitely
Yeah bro I want to talk about some killers but I realize no one knows them

The problem with Boxing is the FANS

...
... Man, it's just useless to compare guys from "team sports" to those from boxing or MMA... and you even know why... :)
I made a prospect thread recently and had no biters. Sucked. What I didn’t do though was turn into a fat kid who starts crying because he can’t force other kids to talk to him.
I missed that one, man, you maybe got a link? That's exactly the kinda thing we need more of.
What I would suggest though is if you think that's something you'd like to see just up and do it, but persevere. Don't just let it die cos you ain't getting responses if it's something you'd genuinely like to do. That ish takes time and patience... Maybe just write about a new prospect you've uncovered every few days or whatever, bit of a bio maybe, any footage you can find and so on... gradually build up a body of work. Get yourself known as 'the prospect dude' or something. Think about something like Chrismarts 'best I fought' thread... absolute fixture now, certainly amongst the real fans, but no real fanfare and not much notice paid in between postings. Doesn't make it any less appreciated. Or for those familiar with the BN24 forums CSTs magnum opus of the carnival barker style fighter bios.
Anyways. Just a thought... only you know how much time you got for that ish or how much you'd like to see or do it, but if you were to I know there'd be a lotta folk on here who'd really appreciate it even if you ain't gonna get hundreds of replies. Sad thing is it's always the provocative and contraversial threads - the trolling and Bullchit - that get the most responses but there's a strong undercurrent of less vocal fans who actually wish there was more of the kinda threads that you're talking about.
Is it "casual" to not be able to fire off 300 prospects only 2 pro fights in, or just not the most hardcore of the hardcore? Vito Mielnecki (sp)? Yeah, it's true, upcoming guys tend to not even really enter my radar until they've already attained some degree of buzz in their ascent. Only so many hours in a day and I try to do what I can when I can there, but especially in the last couple years I've found myself delving more into history alongside current established contenders and if it means I'll always have one foot in the casual puddle by a certain standard so be it I guess.
It's a kinda valid point, and I gotta admit that I personally have less of an eye on the long term prospects than I used to... the dudes only tend to come on my radar these days when they're already half-way up the ladder, but I am watching far less boxing than I was a few years ago. Used to be I had an eye on basically any hot looking amateur turning pro outta the ex-Soviets and a pretty good idea on the UK scene but these days I get most of my news from the 'Scene anyway so I got the same knowledge as everyone else on here.
What I would really like to see on here though is more discussion on that kinda thing, but I'm thinking surely it'd be a more valuable use of your time and knowledge to start an 'analysis of upcoming prospects' thread rather than a 'boxing fans are crap' thread. What you reckon?

Listen man I’m not that I’m just calling casuals out
I think this varies enormously by what you define as a prospect and boxing is perhaps one of the hardest sports to analyse prospects in anyway. All of the sports you mentioned are heavily team based, boxing just pits this one prospect against a series of bums and then we have to make a call on how we think they could do against a better opponent.
Exactly should be easier this is a one on one and we go through many tournaments before pro

There are many who can names prospects...they probably do not frequent NSB all that much.
Exactly they don’t have time it’s better off talking to my homies who know more than y’all cause they were ringside
