135-140 is very deep. Garcia is very talented has all the physical tools, star qualities such as world class speed and power but there is one glaring thing that stands out to me......His stance(his hand placement) and his untucked chin. He has a high rise stance like a skyscrapper and would be well served to add more head movement, and a higher guard. he has sharp reflexes as a young man but i see a tough veteran who can take his punch and punch with him upsetting him much like many other previous hot prospects
he hasnt been any tough fights yet or faced any world class opposition so his punch resistance and defense over a grueling fight has not as well.
it would be a tall order to ask of him to defeat Tank davis who would definitely test his chin and has more experience, also guys like Lomachenko would test his skills, Teofimo would test his chin as would former world champion robert easter jr.
a tough vet with a good chin, will and power are always tough for budding prospects. i could be wrong but ryan is very talented but seems more vulnerable than what meets the eye
i dont know why but i could see him getting caught in an exchange chin high in a shocker type upset if his team doesnt sore up his defensive technique
thoughts fellas
I won't believe in him until he beats Cletus "The Hebrew Hammer" Seldin!
I remember being very surprisingly impressed by the hebrew hammer before on a mathyse undercard & thought he would become a force due to his amazing hebrew hammer straight right & left hooks which are both weirdly strong. But unfortunately he never went anywhere it seems. But yes I think hed be a great Opponent for anyone especially a lw.
I'm referencing that along with praise you proffered some valid, measured criticism as to why Garcia while promising isn't necessarily the greatest young boxer going at the moment (lol), and as such you have become a prime target for baseless, grating, idiotic accusations of racism and/or generic "hating" from the artist known as kidbazooka. That's what I meant. It's fine
Well said and i agree good sir ...da well...they can bring it :boxing:

I remember seeing him a while back before I realized he was a crazy star on social media. I thought he looked very upright, but good speed, nice reflex...overall, skill was OK but he had a good frame and length for these weight classes so I liked that. Lost track for a cpl fights then I hear people talking about him at work and I could barely remember him by name even though I'm the hardcore fan. I was like dang how tf is he making noise like that and I'm out of the loop? These people always bring him up if/when boxing comes up, totally weird to me.
Anyway, being upright is still there...pulling back straight with his chin in the air, still there. That left hook has improved though, that thing looks legit. Vs Linares, great fight, let's see that
I'm late to the party on him, but recently I think he'd made me a believer. REally exciting to have him in these weight classes that look deep for years to come
linares is the perfect type of opponent at this time. has decent enough power and experience his skin and hispunch resistance isnt the best....if he gets by linares he will most likely get a title shot or an elimator after.
that left hook sure does
Oh shiiiiiii, you about to get BaZoooooka'd! I bet you're quaking in your boots

He is improving at a good pace, never really paid more attention to him because I don’t rate him as much, he is growing on me though. Hopefully we see him and Haney soon. I know both of them are young and their handlers might not want to put them together now, but I think they should go for it. A loss wouldn’t do much damage for either.
