The only possible explanation I can come up with is Sampson didn't want to give Top Rank options on his fighter that's why he forced it to purse bid. Based on the numbers they were negotiating before purse bid Sampson knew how much Top Rank thought this fight was worth. He miscalculated and overbid. But they were only $60k apart on the purse bid so his calculation really wasn't that far off. But if you notice usually when Top Rank has a mandatory they'll get a deal done beforehand and get options on that fighter I case their fighter loses.I see what you are trying to say, but there are a few holes in your theory. 1. If what you are saying is true, couldn't have "miscalculated." He had to bid higher in order to do what you are claiming. That had to be intentional. 2. Sampson literally signed this guy when he saw that he was to be the mandatory for Taylor...that is a power move. That is a calcuated maneuver that usually involves forward thinking and careful planning. Unless plans changed last minute, there is no way he would do all that JUST to go ahead and give the fight up to Top Rank anyways. There has to be more to it, I'm just not buying it honestly. I get what you are trying to say but if you can't come up with a theory that makes more sense then I just can't subscribe to it. I could very well be wrong about the Haymon theory, but one thing you cannot sit there and deny to me is that it makes sense.

But why would Sampson do this just to give up the fight to Top Rank anyways? That doesn't add up guy. Seems like Haymon initially backed him but then wasn't sold that the guy could actually beat Taylor so retracted. The plan would be to get Taylor's belts from him over to the PBC side and try to make some stars at 140. Possibly line Tank up to fight for them and become a 4 division champ or something. Or a guy like Robert Easter, there's plenty of talent over there. But my guess would be that the belts were the main target. Sampson wouldn't do this for no reason just to look like a fool in the end...something or someone didn't follow through and wasn't on board with it after winning the bid. There's no need for all the mental gymnastics. Sampson was trying to squeeze more money out of Top Rank so they gave him a large bag to step aside and let TR + MTK promote the event.

Oldskoolg, lolpz, and WWE WCW ECW are even dumber than Motorcity Hobra. WBA WBC IBF was on the post when Sampson won it saying “Haymon strikes again!” Lmaoooo Ever since I proved how much of a fraud he was after lying about Showtimes streams in their ratings I haven’t seen him around
