That's uh, kinda my point. Let me reword:
Given he already had good inside work and focus on inside training why do you think we did not see it in the first fight?
Follow up, do you reckon he's improved or that he's simply coming in with a different plan?
Ahhhh well I think it's a fair question! If he is indeed going to fight on the inside, maybe he didn't feel like Ben had the knowledge to support him in doing so, though from what I can gather, he only wanted to take in Sugar Hill, in addition to Ben (though i'm not sure if Sugar is really known for inside fighting?). It could also be that he's now shared a ring with Wilder and he feels he can add in something different that he might be particularly weak to.
Orrrrr he's just bsing and he will box like he always does with a tiny bit more feet planting haha
For the follow up, no I don't think he's improved at all. Though people forget Wilder did a hell of a lot more than Wlad did. If Wlad had let his hands go in the same way, maybe he could have connected himself. I haven't really seen any sparring footage from this current camp and they threw all the journo's out during the 24/7 pbc thing. So either that's to give the illusion of something different, or they are actually doing something different.
it's a good strategy if he could do it. wilder is at his most dangerous if he could have enough distance and leverage to throw his power punches at full extent. get inside and make him throw short punches instead that will lessen the impact of his power.
The more Fury opens up the more at risk he will be at. He is going to box and hold, he already knows what he is facing.
Plus there is always a chance that he might uppercut himself.
Future reference, don't ask of others what you can't produce :)
there is a difference between can and will not. We all saw what happened. Wilder got rocked and lost that fight.
You make a lot of good points, but Wilder is always going to carry a monster of a punch, even if Fury beats him again.
I think he would only struggle after losing, depending on how he loses. I think he simply is what he is. A guy that has never going to able to box with a skilled boxer, but there’s probably only Fury that can do that for 12 rounds. If he just gets outboxed and loses, i don’t think it’ll have a detrimental effect on him.
Aside from boxing skills, i think one of Wilder’s weaknesses that might catch up with him is the fact he rarely throws unless he his set to throw. Fury can always cut down Wilder’s work rate because he is skilled at being able to offset fighters. So imagine someone knocks Wilder out, he might become gun shy after that, which isn’t good for guy that doesn’t throw that many shots anyway, then i think he would struggle.
Plus if he gets knocked out, then fighters afterwards aren’t going to be thinking they have to go 12 rounds without taking one of his big shots, they will go in thinking they just need to stop him.
That’s one of the big misconceptions with Wilder. “Nobody can go 12 with him”. Well you don’t need to if you can stop him. I think that’s what Fury is thinking. Anyone can be knocked out at HW. I think Fury is the one that’s crazy enough and good enough to put it on Wilder and not be scared of what’s coming back.
Even though i don’t rate Whyte that highly, i always felt he would be another fighter that would fight Wilder with that mentality too.
12 rounds is a long time to only think about not getting caught, especially with a guy that has a real knack for finding the right shot.
Great post. Great addition to what I was saying . You sir know your boxing . Thank you for sharing
No wilder has not fought an elite puncher yet and theres a reason for it . He doesnt have a bad chin at all but hes vulnerable , he has smaller legs and neck and that contributes to the chin most besides what type of shape said fighter is in and what they are born with . I personally think AJ can stop wilder early if he goes at him and bangs hard inside . If he fights outside wilder stretches him . All iam saying is there has to be a reason wilder isnt fighting big hitters . Admittingly theres not a tonne of Mssive punchers in the top 10 but whyte , and josh can crack and his handlers dont seem to keen on matching him with them . If lennox was prime right now he would ****ing annihilate and stop wilder . Within 3 rounds. I think vitali klitschko would have eaten his shots and broken him down . Wilder is lucky he is in the era he is in now. And if he sticks around long enuff he may have to face some of these young guns and he will have his hands full . I personally think fury beats him and once his little aura is broken he is going to struggle . But only time will tell .

... so you do want a trilogy of this?... what for?...
They’re saying they’ve signed for a trilogy already. I don’t necessarily need it but if it’s been signed there’s no other logical way to get to it. If wilder gets ko its certainly unlikely
... for sure... :) .........

If he doesn’t get dropped in the 12th last fight he would have won a decision. Only way we get a trilogy is if fury wins

Fury is NOT getting a decision in america.

Fury's always been a good inside fighter. Back in 2012 when some of us went Wilder, others went Fury, and there was Mitchell and Price fans about still, Fury was being talked about as having a good mix of Bowe and Ali's skillset.
In what ways has he improved his inside game since the last fight?
I'm not saying he's bad inside or that you're wrong, at all, but, I am saying it has always been the case and did not prove to have much influence on their first meeting so why would I believe it will in their next?
Even the video you posted is old...as ****...this is not new news, why should it have a new affect?
Well it's new because he didn't really use it much at all in the first Wilder fight. If he comes out in round 1 and sits on Wilder's chest, then even if this style hasn't really been used or developed much since 2012, it's still a new wrinkle of complexity in the fight I guess.
I agree. I’m not buying this ko talk. He’s gonna try to box from the outside and win like Joshua beat Ruiz. If i saw that I could put on a stinker and still make 85 mil and still have fans clamoring for me, i may do it too.
I have fury trying to win a technical 12 rd decision that will have fans calling for him to get back in the ring with Wilder and fight.

You are absolutely right with your assessment here. Good discussion.
....never forget, he is 6'9 of inside fightingness!!!
If he made the fight a close nose to nose fight he would have great success if he could live there

Thank you for the response..... and a bloody good question that I will struggle to answer lol
Tyson Fury has went to war many times in his past fights, even looked like he struggled in many of them...... but Fury has NEVER been dedicated, always overweight and getting by on his ability..... coming into fights at 70-80%..... drinking, taking drugs between fights..... every camp is just lose weight...... I genuinely think Fury has fought at 70% his whole career...... including Wilder 1...... you an see the fat rippling over Fury's body in the replays..... Fury is THE best boxer 100%..... but he needs to stay in shape and come in on the right weight.
Fury since his last fight has went to the WWE, trained, stayed slim...... then went into the Wilder camp already in-shape...... I can tell just from the interviews and press that Fury is looking good........ and Wilder is truly ****ed.
If he couldn't beat a Fury carrying around massive love handles and looking CLEARLY overweight and out of shape....... he has NO CHANCE of beating a fit and in-shape Fury.
I think Fury is going to do the Klitshcko on Wilder. He’ll mostly hit and hold to stay out of Wilders range and do some of his signature boxing for a few seconds each round to vary it up.
