Kell Brook has wasted years chasing the Khan fight, Hearn practically ended his career putting him in with Golovkin, after wasting years of his career fighting Jojo Dan, Kevin Bizier & Frankie Gavin. Looked to be the man after defeating Porter as a big underdog, now looks shot and fragile after going life & death with a male stripper!
Danny Garcia looked to be a star in the making after the Khan KO and then the Mattysse win. instead become known as the gift and cherry garcia, seems to be rinse and repeat for him at the moment, fight some washed up names or cans then put him in with someone decent and he loses. Pointless.
Leo Santa Cruz: In 5 years he has been favourite in every single fight he's been in with, despite holding the FW title for years he did not fight a single legitmate FW, everyone he fought was a guy moving up in weight or a journeyman or a name who was shot to peices. Refuses the trilogy with Frampton but rematches Mares again (why?)
Gary Russell Jnr: Gary 'i dont watch boxing' Russell Jnr has zero interest in actually having a good career/the sport. fights 1 bum per year for a payday. Whats the point?
Andrade deseves a mention too, since he got a SD agaisnt Vanes 7 years ago, his level of opposition has not increased & has arguiably got worse, his next fight is agaisnt Luke Keeler....the 3rd best Middleweight in Ireland!
Any others i have missed?
Gary russell. Very talented fighter but style was tailormade for loma and hes much better than he looked in that fight. But rather than do what most fighters do after they've lost their 0 and look for redemption against other fighters, hes just fighting complete bums. He could probably take over that weight class if he wanted to.
This whole undefeated-to-be-great bs in boxing has ruined the sport. I don’t care if you’re 50-0 against bums, fight fans just want to see good fights.
Boxing needs to learn a thing or 2 from UFC. Only the truly great will ever go undefeated as there’s no ducking in the UFC.
Other: GGG.
People can say the same thing you say about Kell Brook. GGG has fought nothing but cans and weak welter and superwelter D level opponents, until he got to Jacobs and Canelo (B- and B level guys). I had him losing all those 3 and the one with Derevyanchenko (C level boxer).
He's made good coin, true, but nothing else to write home about in terms of boxing. GGG is mostly known as a bumkiller.
i'm shocked that you had those scores. oh wait arent you the guy that thinks pedraza loma was a close fight. im sure that has nothing to do with tank davis...at all
The Charlos have been a waste so far. I think those who mentioned GGG and Loma are wrong. Let's not forget that GGG was a victim of some bad scoring in the first Canelo fight. He also beat Jacobs and Derenchenko (sp?) and if you make an argument that Jacobs and Derenchenko were robbed then the same argument could be made for the GGG fights with Canelo. Also, don't forget that he blew out all of his opponents for several years such as Lemieux, Rosado, Macklin, Brook and a couple other respectable fighters. We'll see if he ever fights anyone good again.
Loma will be fighting Lopez.
This is tough. At least Garcia, Santa Cruz, and Andrade have big fights on the horizon. Gary Russell Jr is trying to get a big fight and fighting a tough mandatory next.
Brook didn't fight all of 2019, is fighting a nobody next and doesn't know what weight class he's at. Plus who's he's realistically going to fight this year?
Brook by far. He could have had a title shot many times over at 154 just by asking but he never asked. Has hardly fought at all and when he did fight he looked for sh it. He does not seem to want to be a pro boxer anymore. He prices himself out of any good fight as if he does not really want to fight at all. I guess GGG and Spence beat all the fighting spirit and desire out of him.
Out of this list it’s Russell by a landslide
Personally I think Lomo’s career has been a waste so far because he’s only fought one real name and he was a guy moving up 2 divisions and is naturally smaller
Come on.
Nicholas Walters & Jorge Linares were names. Linares was on the fringe of P4P lists before he fought Loma. Salido's a name. Hell, Gary Russell's been on some P4P lists.
Terrible choice.
Probably GRJ because the essential quality of a fighter is, he has to fight, and Gary's lacking big time in that department.
Andrade is disappointing but what can a fighter do if he can't get the top guys to fight him? That said, Boo should be fighting better guys than Keeler.
Santa Cruz has at least fought tough opponents and won albeit a very small number
Gary Russell has done next to nothing in the last 6 years while holding a belt
Gary Russell Jr. tops my list. Wasted talent. Talk about a guy squandering his prime. Jermall Charlo is pretty close to wasting his career as well. Danny at least fought Thurman and Porter in recent years. Yes he likes to celebrate mismatches a little too much, but in between the no-hopers he takes on some tough fights. I don't know if I would say Brook wasted his career. He took a couple of serious injuries versus GGG and Spence, had he not had his eye sockets smashed in, we may have seen more of him. Santa Cruz has shown little to no interest in taking on any big challenges. If he goes up two weight classes for Tank he'll get blasted out, he won't have any power at 135.
I wouldn't give a shit about it. The truth is the truth.
That's the thing......that's your truth but not 99.9% of everyone else. Meaning, that's false.
The TS didn't even mention GGG as a choice and he far from belongs up there. The very fact that you brought him up just shows what you're about. You should probably be ignored too

Brook can't help his injuries and Danny always balance out his BS.
And If u take away GGG's last fight he shoulda been on this list, he basically does the same as DSG. Extreme BS surrounded by certain quality fights
You gotta take that fight away. He lost it to a C level guy in Derevyanchenko. GGG should top the list.
I expected a few of you to come crying. Here you are.
What's the point of having this thread if, as the TS says, Golovkin's biggest critics like Robbie Barret, aboutfkntime, and others are blocked.

yeah dont wanna hijack this into a golovkin hater thread for the millionth time (luckily i have robbie barrett & the other freaks on ignore) but his comment is re tarded
Well we're not getting paid to watch those mismatches so who cares, its a waste of time to watch & a waste of a career/talent obviously..
I agree that I want to see better fights but of course we have the option not to watch them. Those guys definitely need to step it up, so I can agree with that.
This is undeniable proof that you're just a GGG hater and 100% DKSAB

GRJ, all that talent and nothing for long periods of time.
Gamboa, to his credit at least he faced Crawford and Davis
Crawford, I am still waiting to see all that greatness. Dude won't step up in the WW class.
