sometimes when you're making that much, it's more about respect than the actual number. wilder and fury are both the kind of guys who will fight anyone. they both felt disrespected by joshua. he kind of pushed them into each other's arms.
the PPV numbers for the rematch (and hypothetical trilogy) will be fascinating. we've only had two joint PPVs in history (lewIS-tysON & mayweather-pacquiao), but those were HBO & showtime.
to have Fox and ESPN join together for a PPV, and both promote it incessantly, could wilder vs fury break a million buys? or has it just been too long since society cared about heavyweight boxing in that way? i really have no idea what to expect. could do 500k, could do 1.5 million. it's anybody's guess.
I'm not sure what to expect either. I figure they should sell at least the same amount of PPVs as the first fight. I guess we will soon see if the WWE & college appearances help Fury draw a few extra people to the event.
When Arum signed Fury they chose to let the rematch marinate a little more so they could put Fury in a couple circus bouts on ESPN. The Wallin bout could have ended in disaster from that cut being caused by a punch. You can bet Bob Arum wasn't going to let that fight end on a Fury TKO loss from injury. He won a wide decision despite the presence of the bad cut.
Wilder had a spectacular KO over Ortiz so hopefully that draws some more interest. 500000 buys isn't out of the question. I'm sure the 2 of them will be cashing 8 digit paychecks at the very least so I hope it is an exciting bout. I got it a 50/50 fight again.
When was the last HW trilogy? Holyfield/Bowe & Holyfield/Ruiz are the last 2 that come to mind. Holy/Ruiz was not that exciting but still a trilogy none the less. Could Fury/Wilder be the next great trilogy? The first fight was solid with lots of drama so hopefully the rematch is as good if not better. It should be an exciting night...
Pretty solid numbers for 36 minute of work

Impossible for any of us to know the exact amount they made. 14 and 10 were their guaranteed minimums. Based on the PPV selling 325k, they likely made right around their minimums. It's possible they made a little more. But it wouldn't have been much more.

So how much did they make then after it was all said & done? So they did get 14 & 10 million?

Yes they are. If a PPV sells a million buys, the fighters make way more than 24 million combined.
Sure. I'll walk you right through the flaw of your numbers. It's not your fault. You got your quote from wikipedia.
"Despite Frank Warren's original claim that the revenue would be split 50-50, it was revealed that if the fight generated 1 million PPV buys, Wilder could make $14 million (£11 million) and Fury would earn around $10.25 million (£8 million). Both boxers would see this increase to their base purses after receiving their percentages from pay-per-view revenue."

Go ahead and read that entire article. Absolutely nowhere in there does it say anything about needing to sell a million buys. It just says the guarantees are 14 million and 10 million. The "million buy" requirement is completely made up. The "source" for the information doesn't actually contain that information.

Yes they were reported as 50-50 by credible sites
No, they weren't. Every credible site reported the filed purses were 4 million Wilder, 3 million Fury. Filed purses are publicly available information. If the filed purses weren't 50/50, the guarantees weren't 50/50 either. The reported guarantees were 14 million and 10 million.
If you have a link to a credible site reporting different figures than those, go ahead and supply the link.
the filed purses were publicly announced. they werent 50/50. the actual guarantees were widely reported by credible outlets. they werent 50/50.
youre a lunatic.

warren is a promoter. promoters lie all the time. the filed purses show it wasnt 50/50 and the reported guarantees show it wasnt 50/50. nobody is asking you to believe me. the figures are public.
The field purses aren’t the real purses and don’t include the up money either. You have been proven to like all the time. Just like in this case.
My numbers are not way off.

Since I can't post the link I copied & pasted this. Can you get me a credible source if these numbers are wrong?

Your understanding is incorrect. 14 and 10 were the guarantees. For PPVs that do a million buys, the fighters make about 70 million combined. Your numbers are way off.

According to the California State Athletic Commission, Wilder had a guaranteed base purse of $4 million and Fury took home a guaranteed purse of $3 million. Despite Frank Warren's original claim that the revenue would be split 50-50, it was revealed that if the fight generated 1 million PPV buys, Wilder could make $14 million (£11 million) and Fury would earn around $10.25 million (£8 million). The fight did not do 1 million PPV buys it was somewhere in the 275000-325000 range. I'm just going by what the CSAC said...
The first and second fight will be 50-50 splits. Nice try doe. Take those nuthugger glasses off for a minute fam.

Anyone with half a brain will believe Warren before you

you were very clearly speaking in past tense and referring to the 2018 fight. the thread was very clearly referring to the 2018 fight.
you were 100% wrong about the first fight being 50/50.
so now you're trying to pretend you were talking about the rematch when you clearly weren't. pretty lame.

Because they had a 50-50 split and he wants it to be known that Wilder made more than that. That's what is important to him. Not what Fury made

No you should admit you’re wrong. Anyone with half a brain will believe Warren before you chief pbc nuthugger.
After claims from Matchroom chief Eddie Hearn that Wilder's camp refused to cooperate properly during early discussions for a unification bout with Anthony Joshua, Warren insisted that he had no such problem.
Warren claimed that a "50-50" purse split was agreed between the fighters after "quick and smooth negotiations."
"He was the world heavyweight champion. He's undefeated. They understand that."
Fury, who has dropped almost nine stone after ballooning up to 27 stone in his time away from the ring, intends to lose even more weight ahead of his meeting with Wilder.
So you now admit you were wrong about the first fight being 50/50?
“It’s a signed deal,” said Arum about a rematch between Wilder and Fury for February. “Not only is it a signed deal for a second fight between the two best heavyweights in the world, the winner of the fight for a third fight, which is already signed, gets 60 percent of everything and the loser 40 percent. Right now, it’s signed for the second fight. Each side gets 50 percent. I would prefer it take place in Las Vegas,” said Arum about the February 22 rematch between Wilder and Fury,” said Arum.
From my understanding the guaranteed purses of 14 & 10 million were only if the PPV had 1 million buys. It did somewhere in the range of 275000-325000 so i don't think either reached those guarantees but i'm sure they still took home a few extra million each...
