Gamboa was always chinny. Anyone who followed him knew that. He was chinny at 126 and chinny at 130. Most people knew his better years were behind him too since he's Cuban, and every Cuban fighter leaves home once they pass their prime, unfortunately. Who said he wasn't always chinny? I think we have a different defintion of "washed". Ali was past his prime in '74 when he beat Foreman, but he wasn't washed. Washed means you have ZERO left. He still had enough to beat Sosa, who is a tough out for most (outside of Loma). He wasn't washed when he fought Crawford.

Oh yeah, I'm sure that all the super genius boxing fans knew Yuri was "washed", but he was not considered washed by most fans and even boxing journalists. He was not being written about as being washed then as he is now. And I don't think I've ever heard an undefeated fighter being called washed, in all honesty. Many cats back then thought less of Bud for getting stanky legged by a less than prime Yuri. In boxing terms you don't miss making weight til you don't make it in the second go around. Normally i avoid troll threads but i had to respond to this. Just to say that i agree with some posters that Crawford is coming off a bit bitter and classless. Like, why are you talking about another fighters career like that who's not currently in your path at all. At the end of the day, you are all fighters risking your lives trying to make some money for blood thirsty fans and maybe be in the hall of fame someday while you're at it. It's one thing to comment on a big fight but to needlessly criticize a fighter 2 weight classes below that's just trying to do them is a buster move. Not to mention he says people are acting like Tank's win was spectacular, like who was saying all that? Idk what's gotten in to Crawford lately but I'm not liking it. Trying to lure a Lightweight into a fight. Really pathetic. Won't say anything bad about guys above him though. I was a Crawford fan in the past, but i'm neutral on him now. Honestly it didn't mean anything then either actually. Yuri has been washed for years already. The fact Yuri hurt Bud when he was already washed is still a mark against Bud & why I was skeptical of him til about the time of the Postol W. He had trouble making weight. He didnt miss weight. If he'd missed weight he'd not be sporting a new bs ass ABC belt. Finally I agree with you. Yuriourkis was undefeated and still being compared to the best Cuban fighters in 2014. It did mean something back then. He missed weight the first time and came back 2 hours later and made weight, in spite of moving up a weight class.

I’m not a Davis fan. I’m not yet impressed by him aside from him demolishing Pedraza. I’m a neutral fan and actually like both TC and Tank the same, but not necessarily a “fan” of either. If they step it up and start winning, I would cheer for them because they’re both exciting to watch. Davis resume isn’t good, but Bud can’t talk because his resume also stinks and he is 32 years old already and picking fights with Lightweights. Crawford is bigger, taller and has longer reach than Gamboa and Davis. Davis and Gamboa are physically more alike. If it was 2014 Gamboa vs current Davis, it would’ve been even more competitive. But that doesn’t mean anything. Their success vs Gamboa has to do with size. Of course two guys who are both 5’5”, similar reach and similar weights on fight night are gonna be in a more competitive fight than one of them vs some dude who is 5’8”, is the bigger man on fight night, and has longer reach.
