positives
-he looked impressive in destroying an established cotender in his last fight
-hes won 4 in a row
-he still has exceptional hand speed, with above average power
-clearly the more experienced fighter
negatives
-very suspect chin
-38 years old
-fighting far above his best weight
this is the last fight card of the year, so im trying to pump up this fight in my mind the best that i can. regardless of how past his prime you think gomboa is, he IS davis best opponent to date.
i think gamboas best bet is to box n make it ugly n as boring as possible. i think that what he will do, n will have some success doing so, winning some rounds, but i just dont see a way davis strength, power, n speed doesnt break down gamboa in the late rounds. my prediction is davis tko9 in what is a compeititve fight, especially early.
every former great fighter has one great fight left in them, regardless of how far they are past it(morales-maidana), n i think gamboa will fight the fight of his life. i just dont see how davis doesnt crack his suspect chin sometime in the fight.
i think pascal-jack is a better, evenly matched, 50/50 fight. i think jack has more left in the tank, n pascals legs looked shot against browne. hecan still punch though, n jscks not a puncher that could hurt pascal imo. i expect it to go the distance, with a split decision either way likely.
god bless fight fans, enjoy, n i think 2020 will be a better year for boxing.
Nothing short of a Christmas miracle. Should go 3 to 4 rounds and then a big loud cracking punch that resonates through the venue will leave Gamboa slept.
I think his only chance is to get Tank with a lucky shot in the early rounds, he doesn't have the hand speed or reflexes that made him good years ago, I hope he goes all out and makes it entertaining for a few rounds and gets another shot at a good paycheck, sucks because he could have made a ton of money on his prime but he was derailed by his own decisions, the cuban school of boxing business has a worst record than the cuban boxers on prime time.
Usually a former athletically gifted guy like Gamboa would be able to show the last remnants of that ability for a short burst of time...unfortunately, we probably saw those last remnants against Crawford.
The only thing is that with a guy like Davis who apparently does not take care of himself in between fights , if there is any point where Gamboa is able to buzz him...then maybe Davis takes longer to recover than he would have if he took care of himself ...and Gamboa gets a bigger window of opportunity. Kinda far fetched though even though Davis wil llikely run into someone who makes him pay for not preparing properly
No, because if he did had any legitimate shot at winning this bout, then Team Davis would have never taken this bout in the first place. Gamboa would have been avoided. Therefore, they don't see him as a threat or a danger to Tank Davis.
Brah, Davis is being groomed to be a future cash cow. You think they putting him with Gamboa because he's gonna lose?
Gamboa's chance? He sucks at higher weight. His chin is suspect at higher weight as is his power. We'll see if he can land a miracle shot to test Davis chin but good chance he gets blitzed and can't recover to make it competitive.
I believe Siablo is really using an alt these days! That or he has forgotten us
Nah man. I have no alts. When they ban me on here, I get my boxing fix on Boxrec.
Damn, brother, where you been? Was thinking we might need to send out a search party or summin. Season's greetings, man.
:lol1: Issues that occurred off BS got me permabanned.
