I would not be so sure. He might grab some vacant trinket one day... A heavyweight punch, even thrown by a lesser fighter, can change a lot of things. Ask Anthony Joshua.
I saw some mistakes by Ajagba that if not corrected, will be his end in the HW champ quest.
I don't care how old he is. He'll never be HW champ of the world.

I thought the fighter being spoken about in this thread was still native to Nigeria, but if he has a american citizenship 'I can understand why they would change their age, people have got to survive etc'
Strive to do their best.
He is now based in America, he went to the olympics, didn’t do much but the scouts saw him. Help with his paperworks and probably called him a future prospect to the American embassy etc.
They would have not be able to do that if he was announced as a 33/34 year old.
Same thing happens in football, most of them are like 5/6 years over their real age.
They do it because of money, to feed their families. They can get a new birth certificate in a day and then get their passports through it. If they come out with their real age then no one would sign them.
And they usually look young due to eating the right things whilst growing up.
I remember showing Samuel peter to one of my mate (Of african heritage) and telling him his age. He literally choked on his meal because i believed that peter was that age.
To honest i don't blame them.

I wonder as to why they do it?
It seems to happen mostly in boxing 'Specifically with Nigerian's, whether it be the changing of their names or ages etc'.
I don't understand the ideology behind it 'They gain no advantages from lying about their ages in the sport of boxing'.
This type of behavior mostly comes out of west African's.

Anyone that thinks he is really "25" must not have grown up with real african people FROM africa. That guy is over 30 years old. When it comes to african athletes, i have african mate who just laugh when i tell them the ages of all these athletes or the age that they are claiming to be. Efe ajagba is NOT younger than Joshua, he would be at least 33/34 years old in real life. Not a day younger than that.
