Will lomachenko get credit for beating lopez?

How many times throughout boxing history has having one version of the title not equated to being top two in the division? I’ll just say more often than not and leave it at that. A lot less times that when there is only one other belt holder in the division.

Pablo Cano TKO’ing Linares was a bigger upset then Ruiz/AJ. Linares was favored bettingwise -2000!!! $2000 won $100. It was like the biggest betting upset of the year!!! The same people that said Linares and walters would ko lomo are now saying lopez will ko lomo. Do you guys think loma will credit for beating lopez or will people say lopez was too young and beat no one. Me personally, I think majority of the haters won't give him any credit. I don't think Teofimo has faced a good swarmer like Loma before. If Teofimo continues to fight with his gard down, I predict he'll get pinged a lot more than he's used to. That said if Loma can stop Teo in under 6, I'm not sure how much credit for being weak to Loma's style really earns Loma. If Teo last all 12 and makes it competitive, it will only prove to fully vet Teo. At anyrate I also think Loma is a hype job. If Teo can land in between Loma's offense and he actually hurts Loma, I think this will only expose Loma for not being as great as every one is making him out to be. We've already seen Loma lose and get knocked down but we like to pretend like he is still the best thing since sliced bread.

We saw what happened to Khan and Brook when they stepped out of their lane and Mikey Garcia ran just to survive. I also felt Canelo was going to lose if he couldn’t KO Kovalov. People don’t see all of that, so he gets full credit for beating Rigo. Not point bring all of these into it now. I remember Ward/Dawson, Mayweather/Canelo. I have both full credit, before they both signed to fight it was Ward is ducking Dawson, it was Mayweather is ducking Canelo, even when you point out the needling obvious. So I don’t listen to aftermaths of all of these scenarios.

He should get credit and he absolutely will. Lopez has speed, power, and is hungry. IMO it’s going to take Loma everything he has to get passed Lopez. Excellent. I agree. Green K. I'm actually picking Lopez.

At this point, boxers shouldn’t give a damn if fans give them credit or not. In the eyes of “fans”, everyone is a bum or a hype job, and there’s always a reason to diminish any accomplishment. If it’s a good fight where both guys perform well, he gets credit for winning a good fight vs an opponent who performed well...simple as that.

I think he should. Beating a young hungry lion is always more impressive than beating a battle worn torn veteran. Yep, just how PAC whooped Thurman.

He should get credit but no need to go crazy over it. He said himself that Lopez hadn't done anything to deserve the fight. Although the win over Commey was a good one those 2 rounds didn't make him any more prepared for this fight than when Lomachenko said he wasn't ready.

Lomachenko is an ATG and maybe the ATG over Robinson. Have yet to see any black fans or black boxing figures give the man his just due. They all try to diminish, discredit and downplay his genius. I’m not trashing the kid for being willing to fight Lomachenko. I just think he’s a little too green for the fight. And who cares that Commey was the IBF champion? That means nothing. That means he’s a top 10 guy in the division and that’s it. Commey lost to Robert Easter (it was controversial but he lost) and Easter lost every round to Mikey Garcia. Commey is clearly not a proper measuring stick for Lomachenko. It means he is the champion and top two in the division. If the rest are so good, why couldn't they take his title. The rest have to put up or shut up. They decide to play it safe, and you think that deserves respects??
