For sure Lopez has a better market proyection than Loma. Latino market is the best thing in Boxing. IF you speak english well then you have a wider audience for sure. Loma knows this, I just hope he crushes Lopez :D :D

Be a damn shame if that were to happen, but it's entirely possible, and yeah you're right that Bob might rather keep 'em away from each other, but weighed against that there also ain't really any other particularly lucrative in house options for either and that both of 'em are at least talking like they really want it. i hear you...there arent many lucrative/good options for either guy in house....at the same time....loma is a headliner....TR really only has 3 true headliners(loma, crawford and fury)...and lopez could turn into one very soon.....and loma/lopez isnt going to break the bank...it would be a heck of a matchup all of us hardcores are salivating for but its not huge.... i think TR looks at lopez and sees "future headliner"...granted he could take an L and still become one...i mean...canelo took that whitewashing from floyd and got better and didnt take a hit....i just dont know if TR is gonna wanna take that risk.....if loma lost they could say hes too small and belongs at 130 and that lopez is a growing fighter.......i just think either one of those guys taking an L in april isnt great for the company i hope im dead wrong here...i just get a strange feeling about this fight not happening

I agree. White guys in general and white guys from Eastern Europe in particular are a very hard to sell to the American public in the sport of boxing. Just take the Klitschko's for example. They couldn't so much as again a foothold in the American mainstream of boxing; Which is why they were forced to return back to Germany. While on the other hand, Hispanic fighters have probably the largest following of any fanbase in North America; Especially Mexicans. Even though Teofimo Lopez is not Mexican.

Not Buying it Loma and Crawfore are the only ones that can produce Good ratings for Top Rank. He’s a Elite level , Top P4P fighter and one of the few fighters they have confidence in to consistently fight top end fighters , and Probably has a couple years before TR wants his scalp I’m not even sure if Top Rank is fully on board the Teofimo Train, The Espn Kreigel feature on Teofimo talked about his Dad basically being a coke Head alcoholic POS , who pissed all the suits at Top Rank Off when He confronted Loma earlier in the year , Watching the Lopez / Commey Fight , The Announcemers we’re treating Commey like he was the TR fighter which is weird because usually they go over the top for the TR A-side fighter just stopping short of Bradley or Kreigel jumping over the ropes and giving them a hand job midnight , and the Lopez / Commey fight was the opposite if you didn’t know you’d swear Commey was the TR fighter I doubt TR believes in Teofimo so much that they’re confident and want him being the Young Gun to scalp Loma , I’m leaning towards they just want Loma to beat Down Teofimo while he’s young and just couple years into his career and to catch a L while his his hype is high if they wait Loma will just be Older in a Division he’s absolutely maxed out at and Maybe 1 division too high for to continuously compete and beat the best young Guys that’ll be making waves at 135 because they’ll have Youth , most likely and sizeable Youth / weight / Power advantage over Loma , if they marinated this like how TR loves to do , Lopez if he hasn’t moved up in weight is just going to get stronger will have more experience under his belt and probably have a better shot at winning , with the odds being a closer then the 4-1 underdog he currently is. TR are the Svengali Puppet masters of the sport when it comes to Match making and they didn’t set up this fight believing it’s a toss up and and say f.uck it just let the best man win , They definitely have a horse who they’d prefer to win this race and it’s probably Loma the more established proven Thurobred in their Stable

All it means if Teofimo wins is that he's ready for everybody's smoke right now. But even if he loses he can still become a star, he's very young, and a loss here or there doesnt mean sht(unless Lopez lets it mean something and it shatters his entire ego). This is just a great opportunity at some invaluable experience. If I was Arum I'd prefer Loma won, but without destroying Lopez. That way Loma has even more hype for these next few years, while I got an experienced young gun coming up right after he leaves.

Bob agreed with your statement in the post fight interview on the Teo fight. He said Loma and his manager would keep hounding him for it. Loma has a plan and it seems Bob has no choice. Like breadman said, it's the fighters responsibility to fight for legacy and the promotor's to maximize their dollars. Loma cares about his legacy and is going to make Arum do his job.

I got red K for pointing out that Loma looked out of shape in the pic of him and Lopez in the ring but I definitely think he's letting go of the discipline a little bit. While I think he's infinitely more skilled and technical than Lopez, could be a very difficult fight for both. I'd love to see it! If Lopez can’t catch Loma with a bomb, I doubt it is close enough for a fix. I mean even Adelaide Byrd could only do so much.

thanks for the upload. very candid interview; well worth the listen/read. He even admits he can't judge Teo's win objectively bc he's a rival. I always enjoy these kinds of interviews where the fighter can speak his native tongue and his words are actually translated accurately (a f&cking rarity it seems)

He literally said, "I'm out" at one point. I really appreciate his talent but he's come across as weak minded with the family drama and quitting talk. Hope he's got his shyt together now. As far as not being able to do anything else, plenty of people fuk up their lives for seemingly no reason. like I say, I just hope he's pulling himself together. nah i hear you about people ****ing up their lives for no good reason....but...i mean....sometimes people say **** they dont mean for no good reason too.... the family drama thing sucks....they are the one thing you cant choose...and you cant really turn your back on them either...his dad is just insane i hope that woman hes got does him right and doesnt try to bleed him dry....hope she can keep him grounded

lopez was never going to quit..he has no other way to make money...he doesnt know anything else......he was probably just fed up with his crazy relatives...his dad seems like a loose cannon that could get drunk and murder someone..... its a crazy situation...his best move would be to get away from his fam and his dad as a trainer...but he cant..hes trapped...i really hope that guy doesnt ruin things for his son at some point...teo seems like a really good kid just trying to do great things...and he has a ton of ability He literally said, "I'm out" at one point. I don't think top rank is done with milking the Lomachenko cow just yet. I don't see a reason for top rank to be in any hurry to make this fight as it would mean they will lose the ongoing streak and marketability of 1 of them and they don't really have a lot of them. If it happend though, I expect an even 70% Lomachenko to beat Teofimo Lopez rather easily. He needs to make sure there's adequate drug testing and world judges though.

How strange for me that Loma is the "older guy" now. I guess it's because he turned pro so late, coupled w/ the fact that we're in an era where some great fighters are doing well into their late 30's. I see Loma being able to pepper Lopez all night and bring out the quit in him as he's done with so many others. But, I also think Teo is fully capable of catching him and finishing him suddenly and violently. A lot of Loma fans dismissed this for the past year but they're having to face the reality of that possibility now. I don't put a whole lot of stock in to the idea that TR would want to see a guy as inconsistent as Lopez beat Loma.
