Would AJ's running and potshots work against Wilder? Wilder has an 84" reach and is a lithe 6'7" athlete not a squat 300 lbs cholo with a 74" reach.
AJ could avoid Ruiz's power shots but can he really duck Wilder's right hand for 12 straight rounds?
I don’t think he can. You need to sit on Wilder’s chest and possibly fight him on the inside. The biggest thing with beating Wilder is to have a good stamina. Because you need to be focused mentality for the whole fight. He is becoming in love with his power. And I would not be surprised if he loses a UD (If the judges scores it right) to anyone that has the right game plan.
I think that he could use it in spots, however I wouldn't depend on it exclusively for 12 rounds. Ultimately it's about making your opponent uncomfortable so he would need to mix it up. We all know that Wilder loses rounds so AJ's best bet would be to bank the early ones and then avoid squaring up directly in front of Deontay like Ortiz did.
I only told you that AJ simply doesn't have the tools in his skillset in order to be able to stay close to Wilder... AJ isn't Andre Ward or B-Hop (who were old school)...
... generally speaking, of course that staying on Wilder's chest would represent a "solution"... yes... but this is easy to say but quite impossible to implement, as long as AJ's inside game is all but primitive...
Lol, I didn't say to fight like Ward or B-Hop. Don't take my descriptions literally. I was referring more to being aggressive. But being as close as possible as well at the same time and doing it in a smart way, not being reckless.
No worries though, we can agree to disagree it's cool.
Man, no!... AJ is far from holding those in-fighting "rough up" skills you imply above... and he's too old in order to really learn some "rough housing" techniques... AJ only holds in clinches...
I disagree...............that's the best strategy to use in my opinion.........stay close........be physical, aggressive, active but in a smart way..........and everything else I mentioned...........
We can agree to disagree, I'm fine with that.

If he hits Wilder with the right he clipped Andy, it is lights out.
If Wilder hits Joshua, it is also lights out.
when is the last time aj 1 punch Koed someone
if aj fans were really this confident, when the talks of wilder come up they wouldn't start bringing up who wilder fought in his 22 fight and his previous fights when it comes up, they start talking about dlilian "juice" whyte and everything else outside of the actual fight when it comes up.
Like I said you old fu.ck, get off my dick and go back to suckin off your favorite fighters. Theres plenty of your type around here, you're just the most decrepit. Dont forget to change your diaper too.
Calm down my peoples. Do you guys want to settle this with a youtube boxingscene fight...winner take all? Let me know...I'll start the promotion.
Joshua will have that left hand pasted to the left side of his face. Wilder will throw the jab and follow with the right which will be partially blocked by AJ. AJ will do his famous AJ shake that he does whenever he is hurt and that will be the beginning of the end.
AJs style is only effective against short guys, its very similar to Wlads style and he perfected it. As great a defensive boxer Wlad was, as dominant as his style was, he was still susceptible to those right hands by tall guys like Wach & got utterly exposed by Fury.
Wladimir Kiltshhko had the ability to totally annihilate shorter fighters 'Joshua for whatever reason? Seems not to be unable to use his attributes to that kind of level' His performance against Ruiz Junior was not a dominant performance.
Nothing was flowing, and it is almost as if? You can see him thinking 'Ok move back, move left, throw a punch' I am backing Joshua to somehow prevail against the other top heavyweights, but he is having a awfully difficult time with fighters who stylistically 'Wladimir Kiltschko & Lennox Lewis would destroy fighting a bigman type fight'

What's funny is b4 the 1st ruiz fight, it seemed to most that Wilder was kept away from AJ. Now the talk is Wilder khtfo, without question.
Yea, I always insisted AJ was a little chinny and people acted like I was crazy. Well, the truth comes out over time and in that time we've seen Wilder weather huge punches and AJ not only get dropped repeatedly, but fail to recover well.
I don't think AJ is bad. He's a better all around boxer than Wilder. This is just a terrible matchup for AJ.
by most you bias internet fgts like yourself I can only assume?
you literally had fury, froch, lennox and a host of others saying they were hiding AJ from wilder...literally not one guy involved in the sport blamed wilder or his side...
barry hearn even said in august 2018 that he was advising AJ to wait at least two years to fight wilder....but yeah youre right! dumb fgt

No, because Wilder has very quick feet for a man his size. He covers a lot ground and closes the gap and distance very fast.
For a shorter man attempting to defeat Deontay Wilder at long range with no head or upper body movement is not a good strategy. His overall physical and athletic advantages of both height, reach, length and foot speed would be too much to overcome.
In addition, he will eventually catch and stretch you. The best way for Anthony Joshua to defeat Deontay Wilder is at short to mid range.
I was thinking the same....gotta get in wilder's chest and throw at will. Wilder is best when he has the distance for his long arms/punches
