Ruiz's comments about him not training etc annoyed me as I really dislike seeing fighters making excuses, then quickly following up with "but no excuses".
I've listed the ones I remember as being the most ridiculous and I guess Andy's isn't really so bad in hindsight.
David Haye - I broke my toe!
Wlad Klitschko - They poisoned me!
Deontay Wilder - I broke my arm & My ringwalk outfit was too heavy
Mike Tyson - I broke my back! (Tyson actually won his fight easily)
Victor Ortiz - I don't deserve this punishment!
Robin Reid - The princess died!
Manny Pacquiao - My shoulder has problems!
Robin Reid used the excuse that he was too affected by Princess Diana dying to fight at 100%
lmao, how have i never seen that! was it against calzaghe?
Mike Tyson's 'excuse' came after a one round KO as far as I remember :lol1: Hardly a 'poor' performance.
Yes I remember the interview, I think he said he was mourning his friend or something too.
I'm a little limited for character space in a title but fair, I should have said "poor performance and/or reasons for not training properly"
Wilders 100 after the Fury fight, he didn't even lose.
Fury was covered in baby oil
The ref did a slow count
I broke my arm, despite saying he accepted the AJ fight for said dates he broke his arm.
Could only practice jabbing (barely threw jabs)
Too light
Too much pressure first PPV
Had a cold
Concerned with own power
Fury much bigger
I was rushing
I was pregnant
It wasn't me it was the Bronze bummer
