With Aj not looking as stiff as he did in the past, I think Weighing in at 237 gives him a better chance against Wilder as you need to be able to keep moving to avoid that right hand as much as possible.
I still think Wilder catches him and wins, but I give Aj a better chance than I did before when he was on bodybuilder status.
Thoughts?
I fully expect Joshua to come in a tad heavier in future fights, the low 240's etc
But as he has stated himself during the build up 'He just trains, and does not focus on weight' that ultimately is the best mindset to have.
I personally did not really like his conditioning in his fight, as I feel he probably overcooked it in training slightly.
AJ is not gonna box Wilder. He's gonna bully him on the inside and drop Wilder like he dropped Ruiz. And go for the kill.
this
he can't box him because wilder will land sooner or later anyway
aj has to get to him first
I dont think he can avoid the right hand all night.
AJ has a better chance vs Fury actually, since fury doesnt always show up at his best, he looked like chit last fight. And Fury doesnt have big power.
If AJ boxes wilder on the outside all night trying to move, wilder is taller with a bigger reach, AJ will be on the tip of his right hand, not a good place to be.
Can't fix a glassy chin. I think this AJ would do well against Fury because Fury is a soft puncher but I think he's going to avoid Wilder because the chance of getting cracked is too great. It'd only take 1...
This version of AJ looked much better condition wise as well as just overall BOXING
With that being said Wilder as well as other Heavyweights like Fury, Usyk...are all much quicker and better conditioned than Andy Ruiz obviously so styles make fights. What worked vs Andy Ruiz will not be as effect vs the others. That is how you define your greatness though when you're able to adjust and find away to beat ALL Styles
So yeah Not So Fast, it is going to take different strategies to beat the Rest of the Divisions
The Clinching vs Wilder would be a good strategy but I don't think staying on that Backfoot would be not vs a guy that Quick. Not even Fury could avoid Wilder Power for all 12
I fear for AJ.
Wilder's right hand is almost always going to connect eventually in a 12 round fight. I fear even one semi-solid shot on AJ and he'll do the shaky leg.
Wilder's right is like a seeking missile, followed by his blood smelling shark-like hunger... a recipe for a sad ending for AJ. Once AJ stumbles, Wilder flies in there like a rabid dog
If Ortiz and fury can't escape deontay's power I can't see Joshua escaping it but it's still the most exciting match to watch in the heavyweight division should be a good one
Agreed...this version of AJ has a better chance than bodybuilder AJ. It all depends on whether Wilder can catch him or AJ can dance around all night long. Obviously, there is no way Wilder is winning on points.
