I stand corrected, you were right, he didn't prepare and he will forever be know as a fighter who chose the be unprofessional when he most needed it, cause 2 paydays will not be bought for the type of purchasing he has done
I agree. Andy built up an enormous fan base over night and completely squandered it all for lack of discipline. I was really turned off by his shameless plugging for the trilogy fight during the post fight. I sort of hope he doesn’t even get the rubber match at this point. I feel he somewhat intentionally failed to prepare himself knowing that he stood to make his best money if he lost. Had he beaten AJ, he would never have made half as much fighting Wilder, Fury or anyone else. Not at all saying he threw the fight, but rather that he didn’t prepare himself like his career was on the line.
You may be right. Honestly, with his shoes and clothes on, he probably only went up 7 or 8 lbs.

Fair enough. I guess we'll see later on tonight if the extra weight affects Ruiz in a negative way during the fight.
Regardless i got Ruiz by stoppage.
Ok, so it looks like it was a problem for him, he didn't work hard to prepare, I stand corrected, unprofessional ultimately is true of Andy, super disappointed
That has to be a heavy hat and hes wearing pants. He is not 283 lbs..
Reminds me of George Foreman at the Ron Lyle weigh in (Pretty sure it was that fight) he wore jeans and timberlands on the scale
I'm not sure if his weight gain is a result of of him not caring about his craft ,,, I think he just doesn't care about weight

A professional athlete like Ruiz should always be in shape, even when not competing.
He knew he had the rematch coming. He let himself get too overweight.
You think it's part of his strategy to come in that heavy? ????
I think he's got the type of body that works for him in his boxing, I don't think he way he'd his meals as much as we would imagine a conventional athlete does ,,, this is the heavyweight division, there is no weight limit and we will see if it's a problem for him in the fight
Itmight be legit. Or close to as his arms did look bigger. But the way they like to play mind games, I think they might have added weight to him. Weights in pants or shoes perhaps. Has everyone talking about it haha. Who knows. 24 hours to go!
Ruiz had his clothes on for this weigh in so that adds a couple of pounds, plus Andy's head has gotten a lot bigger since he became champ so that explains the weight gain.:D
A 10lb hat?
I was going off what Amazon listed sombrero s smaller than Ruiz's as weighing. Amazon has small cheaply made sombrero s weighing 5 lbs,so I figured ruizs giant custom leather sombrero surely weighs at least 7-10 lbs(if amazon weight is wrong then im wrong). Remember ruiz had pants on & shoes,he also had a shirt & possibly cell phone, where as last time he was shirtless, hatless & shoeless

Can't tell from the video if he's wearing shoes or what, but those sombreros aren't so heavy. Jeans, shirt, shoes and hat maybe add 7lbs, I would think.
I don't think weight is an issue, it does not stop him from having fast hands. Will it affect his stamina? People who havent seen Ruiz box before will know that his body does reveal something - less than world level stamina. He struggled going the distance in a tough fight and is why his 12 round fights have been close (Parker is obvious example but he fought a 10 rounder against a washed up fighter, Johnson I think and it was a plain, boring, uneventful fight where Ruiz just plodded around).
The question now is, has AJs stamina improved?
His sombrero probably weighs like 7-10 lbs because its custom made. You also can't tell in vid if he has pockets with maybe his phone in it. I think Ruiz wins even easier now because AJ will get stopped easier by more rolls of country Christmas ham in Ruiz' arm,& AJ will have less punch resistance,I can see AJ getting stopped early.
