Only 16 men in history have been unified heavyweight champion of the world:
SONNY LISTON (WBC/WBA)
MUHAMMAD ALI x2 (WBC/WBA), (WBC/WBA)
JOE FRAZIER (WBC/WBA)
GEORGE FOREMAN x2 (WBC/WBA), (WBA/IBF)
LEON SPINKS (WBC/WBA)
MIKE TYSON x2 (WBC/WBA/IBF), (WBC/WBA)
BUSTER DOUGLAS (WBC/WBA/IBF)
EVANDER HOLYFIELD x3 (WBC/WBA/IBF), (WBA/IBF), (WBA/IBF)
RIDDICK BOWE (WBC/WBA/IBF)
MICHAEL MOORER (WBA/IBF)
LENNOX LEWIS x2 (WBC/WBA/IBF), (WBC/IBF)
HASIM RAHMAN (WBC/IBF)
WLADIMIR KLITSCHKO (SUPER WBA/IBF/WBO)
TYSON FURY (SUPER WBA/IBF/WBO)
ANTHONY JOSHUA (SUPER WBA/IBF/WBO)
ANDY RUIZ JR. (SUPER WBA/IBF/WBO)
But only 5 men in history have been unified heavyweight champion of the world on multiple occasions.
Muhammad Ali, George Foreman, Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield and Lennox Lewis.
This weekend, Anthony Joshua has a chance to join that elite company and become only the sixth multiple time unified heavyweight champion of the world in history.
I made a thread the other day showing the title lineage for the four major organizations at heavyweight and there are surely some very forgettable names on those lists. But when you raise the bar and only acknowledge unified heavyweight champions, all of the forgettable names are eliminated. Only the best of the best remain. When you raise the bar again, and only acknowledge multiple time unified heavyweight champions, you are left with the most elite heavyweights of the last 50+ years.
I'm rooting for Ruiz. I want to see Wilder vs. Ruiz for the undisputed title.
But if Joshua gets the win, everyone owes him massive massive respect for joining a list of such respected and legendary fighters.
😂😂😂Raging cause you’ve been proven wrong.
I’m far more educated than you and I don’t have to pretend to be a boxing insider.
Sad b**tard...
Thinking you can prove someone wrong about something subjective like boxing ratings just shows how stupid you really are.
Happy to compare educational or industry qualifications. Just be willing to put your money where your mouth is.
Thank you for your uneducated amateur opinion. In the real world, you are removed from ratings when you get a one year suspension for a doping violation and usually also removed if you don't fight for over a year for any reason.

Maybe the full fight will help you.
It’s unquestionable who should be ranked higher.

Yoka beat him. Congrats. He'd probably beat him again.
But who would beat who isn't always how ratings work.
If you get suspended for a year, you're removed from ratings and have to work your way back from scratch.

You're not making any sense. Are you claiming Boxrec lies about their formula and doesn't actually follow it? Please provide an example of Boxrec not following their formula. It's all computerized. The results are input and the computer follows the formula. Not sure how you could claim otherwise.
He had over a year between fights, and has only fought once since then. Nobody is disputing that's two fights. Maybe you don't understand how words work?
Yoka was suspended for a year for ducking several drug tests and very well may have cheated in the Allen fight. Once he didn't fight for a full year, as a standard policy, he was completely removed from my ratings and the ratings of many others.
He had over a year between fights, and then fought once more. He has to climb back up my ratings from scratch after being removed. He hasn't fought enough yet to move above Allen. Allen's win over Lucas Browne is a bigger win than anything on Yoka's resume.

I’ve read the formula and they do not truly adhere to it, it is usually flawed.

He’s actually fought twice. WRONG...

So you rate Allen above Yoka who dominated and stopped him only 18 months ago.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

In Boxrec, both matter. Go read the formula before criticizing it.
Beating a fighter doesn't automatically jump you higher than them in Boxrec. Go read the formula before criticizing it.
I have Allen higher in my personal ratings because when Yoka was inactive for over a year, I removed him from my ratings entirely. He's only fought once since and he hasn't climbed above Allen yet.

I think we’re done here...
Number of fights don’t matter quality of opposition does.

And on top of that the 7-0 fighter completely dominated and stopped the 17-5-2 fighter.

In your opinion who ranks higher out of Dave Allen and Tony Yoka?

Yoka only has 7 fights. He hasn't had enough time yet to accumulate more points than Allen. Beating a fighter doesn't automatically give you more points than them. There are other factors.
Browne was 28-1. Allen knocked him out. That's a more impressive win than anything on Yoka's resume so far.
It makes a lot of sense, you just have no idea how it works. Maybe you should go read the formula before criticizing it.
If a 4-0 fighter beats a 13-3 fighter, he still only has 5 wins at that point, and wouldn't necessarily have enough points from those wins to have more points than the fighter with 13 wins.

Ranking Allen above Yoka is utter lunacy. As our boxrec rankings.
David Benavidez and Fedor Chudinov have had close to the same amount of fights yet Chudinov is ranked higher.😂😂
This contradicts your explanation, and makes it baseless.
*DON’T DUCK THIS QUESTION*.
In your opinion who ranks higher out of Dave Allen and Tony Yoka?
They only fought last year😂😂

What makes wins over Webb (who’s never beaten anyone) and Browne impressive?
Browne was 28-1. Allen knocked him out. That's a more impressive win than anything on Yoka's resume so far.
In the last two years Yoka is 5-0, Whilst Allen is 5-2-1. Boxrec rankings evidently make no sense.

David Allen quickly knocked out 28-1 Lucas Browne. Knocked out undefeated Nick Webb. Yes, he lost to Tony Yoka, but Yoka has had so few fights so far, he hasn't had time to accumulate points the way David Allen has.

In the last two years Yoka is 5-0, Whilst Allen is 5-2-1. Boxrec rankings evidently make no sense. Yoka also stopped Dimitrenko faster than Ruiz who was their #1 rated fighter at the time. (July 19)
Just admit it... Boxrec ratings hold little validity.
So what do you make of Dave Allen being ranked higher than Tony Yoka?
Boxrec rankings are a joke...

You can argue that it's a flaw of the Boxrec computers that fighters are still worth a lot of points after they're no longer at their peak, but it has nothing to do with marketing. You're not making any sense. Abraham and DeGale were valuable wins because of Abraham & DeGale's wins, not because of their drawing power.
No, because I don't need to have the same argument with you ten times at the same time. You think fighters should be worth more than they are, the computers disagree. If you have a bone to pick with Boxrec's formula, explain your gripes and make suggestions on how to improve the formula. It doesn't change the fact that Boxrec ratings are far more reflective of what a fighter has proven than sanctioning ratings are.
So what do you make of Dave Allen being ranked higher than Tony Yoka?
Boxrec rankings are a joke...
Abraham and DeGale were both at the very end of their careers and far past their primes. You’re buying into all the marketing and BS by suggesting they are legitimate wins.

This is something I hadn't even considered, nice post!
I'm not overly confident with AJs demenour and body language...he didn't know which day it was during the press conference and thought he was weighing in tomorrow. (the press conference was yesterday, weigh in is obviously friday) Of course everybody makes mistakes and loses track, but he seems quite a regimented dude and that was an eye brow raiser for me! I'd really like to see him win, he seems like such a dedicated dude and he's brought so much more attention to the sport we love.
I fly over there tomorrow and regardless of the outcome, i just hope the whole card is great and all the guys finish healthy.
Chris Eubank accumulated his points thanks to several wins. He beat James DeGale, which was worth a lot of points because DeGale has so many quality wins. Eubank knocked out Avni Yildrim, Tom Doran and Chudinov when they were undefeated. He routed Arthur Abraham, who had a lot of points after years of quality wins. He also stopped Spike O’Sullivan.
No, let's not. The whole point of Boxrec is to cut through the BS hype and marketing, which is all the world titles are. If Charr retires tomorrow, Trevor Bryan will be named WBA world champion, even though his recent opponents have had records of 2-26, etc. Boxrec rightly sees through that and rates him accordingly.
Lol... Ryder was undefeated. O'Sullivan was undefeated, so were Fletcher, Eubank, Blandemura and Coceres. That’s contradicts your own logic.
Doran and Spike barely had any boxrec points when Eubank fought them, so you’re not even using the system correctly.
Abraham and DeGale were both at the very end of their careers and far past their primes. You’re buying into all the marketing and BS by suggesting they are legitimate wins.
Per Boxrec ratings Eubank has only beat 1 fighter in Abraham with 400+ pts. However Saunders has beat two as both Lee and Lemieux had 400+.
So even by that metric Saunders should be higher. As I said it’s utter nonsense.
ANY THOUGHTS ON THE OTHER EXAMPLES?????
You seem to have conveniently avoided them. Again....
I asked you who Eubank had beat? You provided no names.

Let’s break it down in terms of world champions defeated.
