As a Wilder fan, I would be lying if I told you I didn't enjoy AJ's fights and I would love to see him get revenge.
Nothing against Ruiz but....
Let's be objective here.
Ruiz didn't land a lucky punch;
AJ got careless, got caught, and never recovered.
I expect AJ to possibly catch Ruiz in the same round but not get wrecked with the follow up.
I think AJ was wise to slim down but if Ruiz lost weight as is speculated, he made a mistake.
And AJ doesn't have the greatest chin but a 268 pound boxer/puncher with some pop will drop any heavyweight out there
I get what you're saying Red Foxx, but AJ has a tendency to go for the kill. He tried it with Whyte, went for the knockout right from the off and that nearly backfired, did the same against Wlad, then the same against Ruiz. I feel he will do the same again, he'll win the early rounds behind the jab, then Ruiz will start firing and as soon as a couple get through, Joshua will do what he always does in that situation and fight fire with fire.
He actually reminds me of Amir Khan that way. I still give him a good chance of winning. But I'm 60-40 Ruiz and have put a fair bit of money on it, as well as on Povetkin beating Hunter. What are your thoughts on that fight?
I'm not sold on Hunter, and there's still a monster inside Povetkin that shows up occasionally. But, I'm thinking Hunter is going to out last him.
Ruiz is really fat. How can it be a mistake for him to lose a few pounds of fat? It can only improve his speed and stamina. He had a giant stomach and rolls of fat. Is that supposed to be his ideal fighting weight? If so maybe AJ should have gained 60 pounds of fat so he could be as fat as Ruiz.
IDK why everyone forgets what happened before AJ got knocked down. He was doing well and dropped Ruiz. AJ made the same mistake he made against Wlad and over committed. Ruiz being the smarter boxer weathered the storm and countered. That mistake by AJ turned everything around and he was never able to recover. Getting out boxed when you're dazed doesn't mean a whole lot. If AJ actually listens to McCracken this time it's going to be a long, frustrating night for Ruiz.

I think people tend not to talk much about that KD because Ruiz got up and looked ready. His eyes was clear, he knew where he was and as AJ poured it on, he countered beautifully, not off instinct but off the ability to see the punches coming. You could even label something like as a flash KD.
AJ KD came of a upper cut left hook combo and that's exactly what he wants to avoid if he wants to win.... he needs to fight at a distance and stay patient and no engage in close quarter and fight tall....can he fight that way the entire fight? i personally dont think he can. i guess that's one of the main reason he slimmed down.

Come on now. Ruiz has 64% ko against a bunch of bums. Ruiz doesnt have pop. He isnt good. Fans are changing the narrative so their hero didnt get beat by a short fat guy throwing sloppy punches.. He did
The main difference is Ruiz got up, shook himself off and then proceeded to put Joshua down 3 more times.
That means a lot more than Joshua getting a knockdown first.
It means that Ruiz knows he can't just walk through AJ. If he tries doing that he will end up on the deck again.
