If beats Wilder, Joshua, Ruiz, Fury, etc
Where would you put him as far as greatness?
I don't think he'll make it through Wilder IMO, these heavyweights these days are too darn big and powerful
But if he managed verse much larger foes, that'd be an easy HOF
No other era in 3k years features a HW title fight with both a champion and challenger who has punched themselves in the face.
LMAO okay I'll give you that one
um wlad and vitali dont stand out, they are are were top of a poo heap, this is not atg status.
Well, I find your opinion interesting but the vast majority would disagree with you on it. I think that’s all that needs to be said
Uh no, Usyk ain't there. Hunter, Dubois, Yoka, ajagba
These are all big skilled guys.
Wlad's reign was against guys who got **** on by the current division ranked people.
Well that’s not true about Wlads reign, is it?
Wlad has already beaten 2 of the current top 10, when they were undefeated. He almost beat another, who was the universal no.1 up until his loss to Ruiz
I think the traffic you are describing is quite clearly the opposite direction
Byrd
Ibragimov
Chagaev
Haye
Povetkin
Pulev
Jennings
Those wins are leaps and bounds above anything any current HW has done or probably capable of doing, bar Fury
I hope Usyk becomes a decent HW, because the division really needs it. Beating Razvan Cojanu and Kaufman, along with a UD against a 2019 Cristian Hammer, elevates you to rank 6 nowadays. That’s barren
He may have had a lot left, but it’s a stretch to say it’s the equivalent of beating a 35 year old Wlad, for example. Him having a lot left at that age is a testament to him as a fighter. This would contradict the argument that Wilder and Joshua would beat a younger Wlad. With Fury it’s not so certain
Compare 2013 to 2019:
2013
1. Wladimir Klitschko
2. Vitali Klitschko
3. David Haye
4. Alexander Povetkin
5. Tomasz Adamek
6. Kubrat Pulev
7. Tyson Fury
8. Tony Thompson
9. Bermane Stiverne
10. Robert Helenius
2019:
1. Andy Ruiz Jr.
2. Tyson Fury
3. Deontay Wilder
4. Anthony Joshua
5. Dillian Whyte
6. Luis Ortiz
7. Alexander Povetkin
8. Kubrat Pulev
9. Joseph Parker
10. Adam Kownacki
I mean, other than the ATG’s in Wlad and Vitali, those lists really don’t stand apart from each other. um wlad and vitali dont stand out, they are are were top of a poo heap, this is not atg status.

The division is much worse now because the talent is just not there. Had the Wilder/Fury decision been correct, it may have propelled Fury into a dominant champion like figure but US boxing judging got in the way, again

Is Naoya holding that trophy or is that trophy holding him?
COurse he would be an ATG, unifying HW and CW is like the 2nd coming of Holyfield. Hell of a call though.
Nah. Wilder, Fury, and Joshua all beat fresh Wlad too. Wlad is used to fighting weak opposition whether they're short and have no chance or tall and no talent.
Wlad wasn't like any older fighter either, he had a lot left. He just finally fought quality people who are his size. This division just got a whole lot better and entertaining. Can't wait to see who the top dog is in 3 years.

- -U da Dumb Squat?
I said I doubt he gets past Wilder or anyone else big with power.
Hypothetically if he did get past them, HOF worthy
He needs a chin of iron
It's highly unlikely unless he's roided to ****, too many good, dangerous fighters.
Most athletes are on something.. maybe he can do a mini Holyfield ;)

This is one of the weakest eras in the history of the division
The division has (relative) names like Joshua, but the talent just isn’t there
Tail-end career Klitschko almost had Joshua out of there
Wilder has been shown to be nothing but a loud mouth
Fury, whilst he’s arguably beaten Wilder and older Wlad, hasn’t shown the class he might be capable of
You call the Klitschko era bad, but the virtue of having Wlad and Vitali in the division makes it a lot better than what we have now

Yeah when one guy is so dominant, as Wlad was, it is hard to say how good or bad that era is sometimes.
Its a toss up both are average, its still dawning the new big man era of super heavy so a skilled smaller man can beat them, Fury is probably the toughest to beat for Usyk because of the skills with that size, the others he just dont want to get hit clean.
Well said...I agree, good post.
This era ain't bad, Klitschko's reign era was bad.
Wilder, Fury, AJ, Ruiz are all tough contenders and we got more coming. Dubois and etc

Won’t happen so not even worth the energy of fathoming.
Hypothetically if USYK beat Wilder, Fury and Joshua I’d rank him high but still not above Ray Robinson or Duran.
If he does all that he would have to be considered very good. Going by his last fight against a really lousy heavyweight I don't think he will do all that. I think he loses to the best heavyweights.
Well I would share the sentiment that this era is better than Wlad's...some may disagree though.

If Usyk ends up defeating everyone at HW, he'd be one of the greatest, no? | BoxingScene Community
