Does Gamboa have one last good performance in him against a young prime KO artist like Davis and gives him a tougher fight than expected? It would be interesting to see if he's able to pull off what Donaire did by turning back the clock and give Tank absolute hell until the final bell.
As much as I want to see Gamboa fight his heart out till the end the big difference would be his chin and recklessness. It would be a huge surprise if he makes it to the distance without getting dropped.
No, he's washed up. They are cashing in on his name recognition, which basically what Floyd did for his biggest wins.
Like whom??? Gamboa isnt p4p top 10 nor a world champ..who did floyd fight like that?
I do think that the first 3 or 4 rounds could be an absolute barnburner, hopefully FOTY stuff. The fight depends on if Gamboa's chin holds up or if he doesn't get tagged big in the later rounds. I'm no sure why people are so against this fight, on paper this fight can be a really entertaining one however long it lasts.
.....unless of course Gamboa gets blown out early.
first 3 or 4 rounds? you think this is going more than 2 rounds? the guy can't take a punch and is completely shot. also davis doesn't seem like the take it easy kind of fighter as we have seen the last 3 years against all those tomato cans.

Because Tank hasn't fought anyone in almost 3 years, that's why.
It's time for him to fight guys better than a washed up Gamboa.

That's why I like boxing. They have to lace them up and get in the ring.
For all the claims of rigged fights and corruption, I still go into a fight believing anything can happen. One mis-step, one off-night, a rejuvenated or motivated veteran...
Gamboa could definitely turn back the clock like Nonito did and Tank certainly could have an off night. It's boxing. There will be another upset before the year is over, IMO. It's the nature of the beast. :beerchug:
Unless Tank is packing serious glass in his chin, no, Gamboa doesn't have a chance. He's facing a real puncher, and he's not avoiding those bombs for 12 rounds. However, that doesn't mean he won't have success. He can make Tank look bad in spots with his boxing ability, but making your opponent look bad is long way away from winning.
Gamboa is similar to Amir Khan. Because of the speed, you can expect them to have success up until the inevitable...Jelly Legs and Austin Trout Poses
