29 year old prime Canelo defeats Kovalev by KO in 11th round.
Kovalev was 36, with 3 prior losses (2 by KO in his last six fights) and a draw. His best wins were Alvarez, Pascal 2x and if you count the first Ward fight as a robbery. He was coming off a tough win over Yarde just two months prior. He has an upcoming court case hanging over his head where he may just serve some prison time along with the lawsuit.
40-year old past-prime Pac defeats Thurman by SD.
Thurman was 30, in his prime and undefeated. Best wins were Garcia, Porter, Guerrero, Quintana and Callazo. Six months prior he won a close fight against Lopez.
Thurman was injured and needed surgery after the fight, before the fight he had major surgery a long lay off and nearly koed by a B grade fighter.
Canelo moved up 2 divisions and Kov was equal to injured Thurman, so the 2 division jump sways me to Canelo vs Kov and nobody was injured, and Canelo didnt struggle he just walked him down.
That was not near the best Thurman and it was not near the best Kov , but one was injured the other was not.
Thurman was not injured. He said before the fight he was ready. Canelo "moving up" was not much of a move as he walks around as a LHW anyway. He even said he's not sure if going back to 160 is feasible. Even still, Canelo did struggle for those first ten rounds. Most people have Kovalev ahead on the scorecards and we all knew if he did not KO Canelo it would be a robbery.
Pac s win over thurman is better in every department but more important historically. But nelo win over kovakev is better than flouds win over cw, green.nelo
Kov tried his very best not to hurt nelo while thurman tried everything to kill pac in the ring...
Dont you think an injured Thurman is handicapped badly ?

Both feel a bit sketchy cuz Kov was on the downside & Thurman while still seemingly in his best years had been gone for awhile & dealing with injuries & maybe weve seen the best of him already regardless of his age.
So I cant fault any answer here but Id lean towards Keith being the better W just cuz he should be in his good years still & Manny just eeked away the W as well. Canelo beat Kovalev by the 2nd most likely outcome by most fans a late KO. Manny winning at all was 50/50ish among most fans it felt like while a Canelo W was massively favored.
Good post now I don't have to type that out
Pac easily. Thurman came to fight and Kovalev fought like he was a lightweight trying to out box a WW....
One guy had been stopped more than once, the other hadn't even been knocked down as far as I know?
Not saying Thurman was at his absolute best because he obviously wasn't but as far as the better win, it's Pac and it's not close IMO.
In my opinion Pac's win was far better because Thurman fought his heart out trying to win. Kovalev did not fight like a guy who was trying to win in my opinion and never threw a single punch with power or bad intentions the entire fight that I saw.
Thurman wasn't in his prime when in fought Pac. He was coming off a terrible performance versus Josesito Lopez, a guy Andre Berto stopped. Thurman hasn't been the same guy since his shoulder injury and long hiatus from the sport.
Pac win definitely, Thurman didnt look that good against Josesito, but Kovalev's weaknesses, what everybody was talking about is exactly what Canelo exploited... Everybody saw it coming and even then Kovalev didnt ajust properly...
The more I think about it and taking everything into account the less impressive it looks. I guess now everybody can see that the urban myth that GGG knocked out Kovalev in sparring probably was true.
Why made a thread you already know the answer too. Lol.
Only one fight was considered fixed. And thats the same fight the Prime guy beat the guy considered washed up
