Didn't mean to ruin your thread, I just think Bob's massive numbers are a nice anecdote. He retired 28 men! FMJ: Corrales. Hatton Canelo W Klitchko 14 and went 12-2 lost his last 2 to Fury then Joshua. Manny 13 and went 9-4 with the Horn and Bradley losses in there.. SRL 3 and went 3-0 ... Benitez and Hearns he took their 0. Duran had 1 loss coming into their first fight. SRR surprisingly in about 200 fights fought 1 guy that was undefeated in Marty Servo ALI had 6 and went 3-3 with Losses to Prime Frazier and Holmes, and also lost to Leon spinks. He avenged the Spinks and Frazier losses and beat Foreman in his prime. Joe Louis 1-1 lost to Marciano in his last career fight. Chavez Jr 7-2 Lost to Oscar twice and beat Taylor in that controversial fight. RJJ 9-2 with the win over Toney and the Dq loss to Griffen. The other loss was Calzaghe. Few of todays best Canelo 5-1-1 wins over GGG and Trout. Loss to Mayweather and draw with GGG. Spence 3-0 took Mikeys 0 Crawford 7-0 and about to be 8-0. Wins over Gamboa, Horn, Indongo, Postal and Benavides. Loma 3-0 Rigo, Walters and Russell Jr. Just peeping through boxrec this morning and was interested in how many zeros some of the best took in their time and how many of this era are matching up with undefeated guys... Not a slight on any fighters just some interesting results . If you're looking sub-title level look at Deezol in the US and Khomitsky in Europe. Two diudes you might describe as elite gatekeepers. Fought fkn everyone. Both popped the cherries of a good few touted prospects. EDIT: Actually not so much Khomitiski, looking back over his record. He should have got the nod against Murray at least once and has had a few bad decisions against him, but he ain't popped as many cherries as I thought he had, mainly just brought a few UK prospects down to earth.
