Just peeping through boxrec this morning and was interested in how many zeros some of the best took in their time and how many of this era are matching up with undefeated guys...
Not a slight on any fighters just some interesting results .
Lol 17-0 vs undefeated guys not making their debut. LEGEND!!
This the kid that died a while back btw?
Yeah. Rumor has it the Saudis got wind that he was planning on parachuting in to take on the entire Saudi army in mano-a-mano combat and were panicked into arranging a pre-emptive airstrike. Cept word amongst the Global Intelligence agencies is that his death was in fact faked and he's now an elite shadow operative doing wetwork for a Supra-national security agency. No one sees him coming and the only calling card he leaves are the crushed livers in the lifeless bodies of his hapless victims...
Oh, I got you.
Bob's got a massive record so if I miss something that's my excuse :lol1:
I count 10 total: 4-3-3
Losses: Jeffries x2, Jim Hall (missed him on the first post)
3
Wins: Corbett, Creedon, Upham, B.Slavin
4
Draws: Hickey, Bayliff, F.Slavin
3
Hickey, Bayliff, Upham, and B.Slavin are all basically debuts.
Didn't mean to ruin your thread, I just think Bob's massive numbers are a nice anecdote.
He retired 28 men! That's an exciting statement, most of them were debuts, that just takes all the air out :lol1:
Keep em coming man, I'm not a historian by any means, just browsing through boxrec while having a coffee this morning and was bored so I made a thread lol.
Haha .. and lest we forget the fighting pride of Yemen, the God who Walks, Ali Raymi (May his blessed name never be forgotten).... :lol1:

25 fights 25 wins all by KO with 22 coming in the first round and all against undefeated fighters - except the legendary 4 fight series against Prince Maz who was only ever defeated by Raymi Himself.

He fought 39 unbeaten fighters
He won 33 of 39, drew 4 times and lost 2.
Both losses are to Jeffries.
His best undefeated win is Corbett
Draws are Brinsley, Slavin, Hickey, Bayliff.
On the upside: Bayliff, and maybe others, only got a draw because they survived Bob in a fight where he was pledged to win by KO.
On the downside: Most of those 0's are debuts. Or, their records are lost outside of their Fitz fight.
I didn't count debuts, chavez first like 8 or 9 fights were all debuts wins. Only found some dudes had previous wins and no losses on the record. Funny how few undefeated fighters some of the greats ever fought though. Timing can be everything in this sport

If you're looking sub-title level look at Deezol in the US and Khomitsky in Europe. Two diudes you might describe as elite gatekeepers. Fought fkn everyone. Both popped the cherries of a good few touted prospects.
EDIT: Actually not so much Khomitiski, looking back over his record. He should have got the nod against Murray at least once and has had a few bad decisions against him, but he ain't popped as many cherries as I thought he had, mainly just brought a few UK prospects down to earth.
