We would need a really talented fighter, maybe
Sergiy Derevyanchenko if he can execute Canelo's weakness.
Get used to Canelo beating everyone ladies and gents.
Canelo needs a very polished fighter to beat him.
Dmitry Bivol is good, but not as good as Canelo IMO
Who do you think will go up in weight or down to fight him and will pose the biggest risk for Saulito?
The next logical fights are as thus:
GGG for a contentious trilogy and the opponent is still a p4p ranked boxer
Callum Smith who is the true SMW champion and Canelo claims a stake at that title
Bivol or Betebiev who are the two men claiming to be title holders at 175 lb, the division in which Canelo has just won a belt. Beterbiev holds the lineal title also, so as Canelo and his fans love to talk about legacy, this is THE legacy fight right here.
Would any so called boxing fan be happy with Canelo not fighting any of these four names? And if so, who would be a better or on par opponent than these guys?
Jermall Charlo, Demetrius Andrade, Artur Beterbiev and Callum Smith would beat Canelo at this point. Casual fans don't care though. As far as they're concerned, Canelo is a legend and a champion in 3 weight classes (GGG two years too late, Rocky Fields at 168 and now Kovalev at 36 years old). They wouldn't know that Canelo wanted nothing to do with Andrade at 154 or 160, that Charlo was avoided as the WBC mandatory, and Smith and Beterbiev are the real threats in their respective weight classes...
