You mentioned people streaming the showtime card and those numbers not counting in the ratings.
I correctly pointed out it’s the same for ESPN and Fox too. Anyone with half a brain knows people can stream espn and fox just the same as Showtime and it’s not counted in the ratings.
No, it's not the same. People streaming ESPN and Fox have to get ESPN and Fox through their cable or satellite provider. So the streaming numbers are very low because anybody watching from home is just going to watch on their TV. You can't subscribe separately to ESPN or Fox. You must get them through cable or satellite.
On the other hand, millions of people subscribe to Showtime directly, without cable or satellite. Something ESPN and Fox don't allow. The streaming numbers for Showtime are much higher because they include people watching from home who have no other way to watch other than streaming.
You also have fox deportes and espn deportes not counted in the ratings.
ESPN and Fox combine the English and Spanish broadcasts in their released numbers.
No, you can't say the same thing for ESPN or Fox. HBO and Showtime are premium services that cost an additional 10-15 dollars per month. Millions of people that don't have cable order HBO and Showtime separately. Those people aren't counted by Nielsen.
You can't order ESPN or Fox as a standalone service like you can with Showtime. ESPN+ doesn't include the actual ESPN channel or programming. You have to get ESPN through your cable or satellite provider. You have to get Fox through your local affiliate (usually via cable or satellite provider).
What country are you from? Maybe you don't understand how TV works in the US?
Uh oh tard alert. Maybe u aren’t from the US and don’t know how it works.

Could say the same for espn and fox cards. No excuses. Just a terrible number.

To be fair, the entire card got turned upside down in like two weeks with fights being reshuffled. Outside of Easter and Granados, most fans have no idea who any of those guys are. Forget the first fight, nobody knows either guy. Lubin is not well known and neither is Gallimore. And they were going to head to head with an ESPN card and the World Series. Lubin-Gallimore is not the kind of fight to make people stay home to watch boxing on a Saturday night.
Also more and more people I know watch Showtime (and other channels) via streaming services like Youtube TV, HULU, Playstation, etc. - and I could be wrong but those numbers are not factored in to Nielsen figures.
I watch Showtime with their app Showtime Anytime (which I think Nielson doesn't count)
In comparison, Angulo-Quillin averaged only 282,000 viewers on FS1. (Showtime = 29.7 million homes, FS1 = 84.5 million homes)
The espn card was actually espn+
Showtime will be dead my this time next year
Not true.
Even if they wanted to close shop, they have two years left on their deal with PBC. That's a guaranteed contracted deal, so they have to make cards and supply dates until at least the fall of 2021.
Just like those WWE rating are bombing right now on FOX, but WWE has a five year deal worth over 1 billion.
Even if FOX wanted to end the deal, they would have to continue until the deal is done.
No Surprise!
Turned out to be a very good Card actually but that was a busy sports night with College Football Game, World Series Baseball and all those sports was on FREE TV and not on a Damn Premium Network
It is 2019 though, a lot of people are streaming so I don't even see the point of keeping up with Nielsen Ratings anymore it is very misleading

This is due to the stupidity of the Networks and Promoters. They take a fringe sport and both put on boxing cards at the same day and time.
"Yeah lets directly compete with those guys so we can cut our normally subpar viewing numbers in half to make them pathetic."
It's a shame that Lubin didn't get more viewers. He looked great in that fight. I enjoyed the way he beat up Gallimore! Much, much , MUCH better fight than the Shakur Stevenson fight. I'll be paying very close attention to Lubin from now on. He's a damn good fighter!
Dang those are horrible numbers. I just got a free month of showtime so I won't complain, but if they aren't going to have any decent fights in the future I doubt I'll keep it beyond the free month
