This is a great post and gets overlooked by most. I hate the "Floyd played with Canelo" opinions, he was actually getting pushed pretty hard in there the first 6 or 7. He was keeping up with Floyd's mind quickness as good if not better than anyone I've seen, it was a super first 6 rounds Canelo had from a pure boxing point of view. After that he got tired physically and mentally, he just couldn't keep up, but I was really impressed considering his lack of experience, this was a Canelo who hadn't properly learned to pace 12 rounds, or utilise his size and strength.
With all that said - the Cotto fight was certainly harder, Floyd was pushed in that fight, he took a lot of clean hard punches, it was one of the few times I saw him show visible fatigue...Cotto put it on him and forced him to increase his workrate...Cotto's compactness and accuracy in the pocket made it tough, and Floyd really showed his toughness and grit that night, he showed the ability to elevate when he really needed to.
I think Floyd fought Cotto that way to entertain. He could have made it easier than it was. He had to think more with Canelo, but it looked easier...but he said Canelo hit him harder
I would have to say Canelo. He had Floyd running most of the fight.
interesting handle.. how young are you?
two months ago.. i hit a fool, who insulted my beautiful japanese wife..
i slept him.. young people.. are not getting bigger better stronger.. faster..
interesting thread.. carry on
50 centavos body slammed him.. that hoe who took him to court got the best of him, and i think castillo beat him first dance.
it was interesting to see my pinoy brothers say pac was a one armed fighter.. but if ployed says he was a one armed fighter when he got bested by castillo.. then he get's boo boo booed..
Not a huge Cotto fan but he definitely showed up that night and gave floyd one of his hardest fights in his career.
Definitely did a better job then Pacquiao. Not only that but he busted Money May up with his jab. He had him bleeding from the nose. Floyd had to fight Miguel off of him. He said that Cotto was the hardest and strongest puncher he has ever faced. Miguel Cotto made Money May to bite down and dig deep in that fight. It was one Floyd's most entertaining and crowd pleasing fights.

Mayweather got out of the Canelo fight with just a bruised hand. Againt Cotto, in between rounds the people went crazy when they Floyd bleeding from the nose and mouth. Floyd even admitted that at that time Cotto was his toughest. (Castillo, Augustus, Maidana, Dlh?) but the judges scorecard were ridiculous

Floyd fought stupid as up to that point cotto was allegedly chinny.. .floyd was super aggressive the first 4 rounds, 4-5 punch combos and such....in the middle rounds while laying on the ropes mid combo he'd give Cotto dap and tell him come on....
Canelo he had a real fear, and put a beating on him as such from the first bell stalking....and canelo put on a respectable fight he just got shut out as pretty boy floyd had a flashback and everything canelo did floyd had 3 answers for
Cotto, without question. If you dont agree, youre either not a real boxing fan, a Saul fanboy, reetarded or all 3.
Exactly. All 3. Canelo did as well as Marquez did. Cotto was competitive and won some rounds clearly. Some.
I think Canelo didn’t do too bad considering he was trying to box Floyd. But cotto has the right game plan, he knew he had no shot in hel at boxing with Floyd, so he tried to beat him up on the ropes. So cotto did better. He made floyd throw almost 700 punches, which for floyd is pretty damn high.

He beat Canelo pillar to post and didnt break a sweat. Cotto gave a good account of himself with Floyd, not enough to win but won a few rounds. Remember Floyd shut out many great fighters like Marquez.
Styles make fights and I believe Castillo I, and Maidana I were the most competitive matchups for Floyd. Cotto did decent.

Cotto won more rounds. Canelo won zero rounds.
Floyd made Cotto do the funky chicken dance though in the 12th. Floyd hurt cotto more and fought cotto more aggressively plus canelo has a better chin.
