Yes. Alcoholic around 25 years. Opiate addict about 16. Bad one too, at the worst times. One of the dudes you see with the polystyrene cups on a brown nod in the shop doorway probably smelling of piss. Finally cleaned myself up properly in 2015. That good enough?:lol1:
Humbled. Right on and congratulations.
What rest of the world you talking about?
In Latin America and Africa being the only continents I know and only continents I could care about, they agree you just a drunk.
Treatment begins with the realization you have a problem and trauma to heal. Having worked years in a rehab I understand your point, but it’s pointless.
Their is no difference and no subcategory or alternative method to treat these sub categories.
You have a problem with alcohol and you need to heal that toxic relationship and the trauma leading up to your self medication.
It is clear brother with all due respect you are speaking out your A S S.
Unless you admit to being an addict/ alcoholic yourself, your opinion is null
And void to me.

And, man. You sound just like every other keen young councillor (in both drugs and mental health) I ever met over decades, each convinced that their philosophy was the only real way of dealing with the problem, and each supplanted by the next wave of eager recruits a few years later equally sure that the latest teachings were better. :shrugs:
Umm. Nah... therapeutically it's useful to differentiate, there's a variety of different strategies available to treat the spectrum of alcohol related disorders and research has shown that some of them are more suited to different types of problem drinking than others. So. Yeah. I dunno. Call that 'simple minded' if you like, man.
And I know I'm arguing semantics here but whilst the term itself has become popular in the US in recent years to define all forms of problem drinking under one umbrella term, that was not always the case and nor is it the case in the rest of the World... WHO do not use 'alcoholism' as a diagnosis, and it's their guidelines I'm following, y'know. ..this being an international forum and all that.

Some issues ain't that simple, man.

Fair enough, everybody c an define their own terms but it all boils down to alcoholism.
Whether it’s binge drinking on occasion or daily. Whether you act recklessly violent or recklessly behind the wheel of a luxury car, it’s all the result of alcoholism.
I could see the sub categories needed for simple
Minded people, but no nonsense folk just call a spade a spade. Errol’s clearly an alcoholic. When he does drink he ain’t got an off button.

Alcoholism is not included as a diagnostic entity in ICD-IO (see dependence syndrome). Despite its ambiguous meaning, alcoholism is still widely employed as a diagnostic and descriptive term. For instance, in 1990 the American Society of Addiction Medicine defined alcoholism as "a primary, chronic disease with genetic, psychosocial, and environmental factors influencing its development and manifestations.

Fuck it, let him live his life if he wants to get drunk and run over civilians thats his right as a world champion DAMN IT! RESPECT IT!
When did he run over civilians?
Last I checked he made a mistake that hurt only himself.
You can choose to define your terms, man. There's different types and levels of problem drinking... if you want to use a catch-all term like 'alcoholism' to cover 'em all, sure, but it can be helpful to have different terms to describe specific types of drinking problem.

hahahahaha video edited with elton john im still standing playing over it.
Lmao
I'd love to party with Spence and his crew.
I'll be the designated driver though.
Would be hilarious if the footage was after the accident.
Like right after he got of the hospital, Spence goes straight to the strip club to grab the first bottle he can drink and then grab the first ho to give him a lapdance.
He escaped death, he should be allowed to celebrate. Just a little.hahahahaha video edited with elton john im still standing playing over it.
Dude is having fun after nearly dying. Life’s short might as well have a laugh
Your a fughin moron if you think that video is after his accident
And then people want their fughin opinions respected on this forum
Hey fughnut , ever think maybe your an alcoholic ( and even if your not , it’s a great cover story for your dumb thinking )
Beleive footage was from the night of the accident or before definitely not after.

spence never dared to be great, he even said so himself. for him it´s not about a legacy and taking risks, it´s money only so i couldn´t care less if he comes back fighting one b-fighter after another, even tho i wish him a full recovery but boxing-wise idgaf!
You can take the thug out the ghetto but can't take the ghetto out of the thug.
Spence was never and has never been a ghetto thug, he has definitely changed over the last few years for the worse doe.
You get in an accident and get a DWI, first thing in DWI class you are taught you are an alcoholic.
Alcohol abuse, alcoholism and addiction, GTFOH it’s all the same. You an alky.
People are talking out their asses and trying to
Sound intelligent but end up sounding like those

An cmon for people saying he's a thug not tryna pull the race card here but just cuz our culture doesn't dress in slacks dockers or suits and ties all the time or we listen to hiphop dosen't make us thugs lol.
