Amir Khan wasnt p4p...and did nothing at 147
And Brook was still ranked high at 147 basically it didnt effect their rankings.
Moving up like that is like failing an extra credit quiz and it effecting your grade.
In most cases, I'd agree with you
I agree Amir Khan wasn't P4P and he still outboxed Canelo, who is for a lot of their fight.
Brook wasn't effected because he did better than most people thought he would against GGG.
But again, Mikey was supposed to be the better boxer and got outboxed for 12 rounds.
If he outboxed Spence & then got KTFO, it wouldn't have effected his status
Uhhh for one that's his ONLY lost! For two he dared to be great by moving up two div! Why wouldn't he be?!!! He's still unbeaten at his natural weight!
Nailed it.
Stupid casuals swear guys drop 40 rankings after a loss.
So did Amir Khan and Kell Brook and they both acquitted themselves pretty well against Canelo & GGG before getting KTFO.
Mikey didn't even try to win rounds, just not get hurt.

U cant disregard that he jumped up 2 weight classes no tune-ups vs Spence. His only lost of his career. That aint enough to just erase all he did to become p4p.
That makes no sense...

I don't know man, losing every round of a fight is a good reason to be off of a p4p list to me
Like Bread says, everybody aint there to be knocked out.
In order to knock people out, they have to open themselves up to get knocked out.
Mikey didn't try to win a round, he just survived. Anybody can do that. The first few guys who went 10-12 with Tyson used to do the same thing.

Don't matter that aint enough to get knocked off the p4p list.

According to the posters on this site, Spence is the boogeyman.
And Mikey took 12 full rounds, nobody was hurt, nobody hit the ground....
PAC would TKO Mikey.

This feels like an exaggeration, or perhaps myself and many other boxing fans are just knowledge-less :D I thought Garcia would be timing an aggressive Spence and while being very close, Garcia winning a UD.
This is not what happened at all and instead we saw Spence simply outboxing a previously thought of, master technician. Garcia had no answer and could make no adaptation to Spence's superior range. This of course got me wondering about whether or not Garcia is only as good as he was prior, purely because he had all the physical advantages.
Is Garcia still top 10 p4p? Probably..providing the opponent is smaller than he is? I'm not writing the guy off, I loved watching him fight but I was really surprised at how few ideas he had when it got tough. I actually think part of this might have been because he's always won so easily prior, he's never had to face this kind of adversity in his career so far?
You're overanalyzing good sir, Mikey was too small, that's all.

Nah, everybody's not there to be knocked out.
Mikey didn't even try to win a round, he was just there to not get knocked out.
And still did a lot worst than people thought he would.
People thought the fight would be like GGG/Brook or Canelo/Khan, where the smaller gut outboxes the bigger guy until he got caught.
That's not what happened.
He lost every round and just was there to not get hurt.

Who's that hottie in your sig ? Damn, she's as good as it gets!

If anybody should be embarrassed it should be Spence.
Mikey took ol boy the whole 12 rounds!!

He lost one fight vs a p4p fighter in a higher weight class

Can someone explain this to me? After the beating he took and getting outclassed by spence.
- -Didn't take a beating.
That's for you to do publicly as is your predisposition.
He's a 4 division champ who in his last 5 fights faced 4 undefeated champs with the other Broner never having lost below welterweight. Meanwhile he went 4 for 5 against them with his only career loss being in his 5th division.
Because Mikey's not a welterweight, anybody with at least half knowledge of the sport knew the Spence fight was a joke.

did Rigondeaux get taken off ppl's p4p when he lost to the bigger Lomochenko? Even though Rigo quit on the stool, I would say his performance was better than the miserable performance that Mikey put up. But hey Mikey is laughing all the way to the bank, and for some strange reason he's even in line for a Pac payday.
Not to mention he was p4p for a long ass time. But then again its hard to keep him ranked when he barely fights

lmfao you fools are clowns, straight up busters lmfao. What you want him to do? stop raising his fist and signal to the everyone that he lost that round, once you do it! you gotta keep doing it, he does it in every fight lmfao. Like damn you fools really are that stupid that you cant realize that? dont understand why why he kept doing it? I swear some of you fools are just straight up hardcore haters lmfao who cant keep it real for shit.
I would have rather he'd fought the guy that was in his division wanting to take his belt.
Instead he asked for a fight no-one asked for in which he got embarrassed especially after all the crap he spoke.
It's you who's a straight up clown if you think it was anything more than selling his 0.
Honestly I feel like a loss shouldn't immediately eject a fighter from the top ten so long as that loss was to another fighter with good credentials, like Spence. However, I feel like that shouldn't apply when the beating he took was so one-sided and humiliating. It was foolish for Garcia to ever pursue that fight. Honestly, I have to wonder if it was actually his idea in the first place and not Haymon's or someone like that.
