what? crawford is the same height as Danny and Keith. 5'8" After checking, you're right. He is 5'8". This is shocking to me because he looked a lot shorter when I saw him standing next to Spence in timberlands.

Porter didn't fight like damaged goods after Thurman and Garcia so I don't think we'd hear that for this fight. I think people would be more excited to see Porter fight Crawford because of how good he looked versus Spence. People will believe he can win, which will boost the fights profile I totally agree with you here.

I hope it happens but I doubt it will. I don't think Arum will allow it. Porter might beat Crawford. Arum might need to roll the dice. Bud isn't cheap. You don't want to pay him good money fighting opponents that don't increase his fanbase. ESPN wants a return on that timeslot. If Crawford is as good as we all think he is, you have to face opponents that make people want to see you fight again. Porter is that kind of opponent. Spence had to climb that mountain, now it's Crawford's time. Garcia, Pacman and Thurman aren't walking through that door. Lomenchenko is also over there cleaning house fighting fellow champions in great fights. Which makes it even harder for bud keep fighting fights no one cares about on the same platform. At a certain point you have to make some noise. Porter makes a lot of noise.

Definitely a fight Top rank should go for, Team Spence are fighting Garcia next, after that we would probably have Spence/Pacman. So if Porter and Ugas are allowed to take that fight then that's the best option for Crawford. Beating Porter and then Ugas would mean a lot.

Lol Crawford would get his first real meaningful Welterweight PPV fight that should do above 200K PPV buys. Shawn would get another chance at a Welterweight title (WBO) and give PBC fill control of the division with a win. We'd see Crawford's metal tested like never before for people that say gamboa is his best win. The PBC blockage would be temporary lifted and win or lose Shawn will get paid! I'd imagine Shawn could get a similar offer to what Danny Garcia was offered after Saturday night. Bob will want no parts of this fight at all. But it actually gets him off the hook as well for not delivering Crawford a meaningful opponent since the new contract. If Crawford looks better against Porter, it also enables him to ask for a larger percentage when the fight with Spence gets made because he'll have some real buzz with an impressive win like that. And it really helps PBC because they definitely don't want Spence back in there with Porter now that he's doing solid PPV numbers any time soon. He can fight Garcia or Pacman next and continue building his fanbase. The only issue I see is that Porter really did a good job selling the fight during the lead up to it. I don't know if Haymon would want Porter doing that kind of sell job for an ESPN PPV. If I can't get a Spence/Porter 2 or a SPence/Crawford, I will definitely be interested in Porter/Crawford because if Porter fights like he did against Spence, Crawford would be forced to take his game up a level and that would be exciting to watch as a boxing fan.

That porter that showed up against Spence on Saturday night was a beast and will definitely give Crawford a good fight. Something tells me Porters chin is elite, I don’t think a lot of 147lbs could of taken those punches from Spence. Crawford to me is suspect to the body, he got tagged a bit against a one legged Benevitez

This sounds like a valid strategy but it's never really worked for anyone against Porter. His feet are really fast and his movement is herky jerky. So timing him coming in becomes a real challenge. It's why most just throw the body shot and try not to get head-butted Crawford is also a lot shorter than Garcia, Thurman and Spence. So he's very likely to run into some headbutts and get pushed around a lot more. It's just a tough fight. There's nothing normal in a Porter fight. He's all over the place and aggressive. All that technique goes out the window when the guy in front of you is libel to be anywhere at any moment they any punch. It's a lot like Maindana when he fought Floyd.
