I would even dare to say that Wilder's resume is better than his.. yes he beat Joe louis and yes Joe Louis was also 100 years old when he did and like 50 defeats.
Lol .. Marciano is billed at 5'11 and 188 lbs. They'd be in different weight classes.
This is more or less the issue. It was a bit of sarcasm along with a “lets get real” type of comment from me. Marciano is ill equipped for modern hws. It’s not that Wilder is that good, it’s that the size is too much to overcome and the times are different.
HW isnt p4p and all things are not equal there. Marciano is a modern day LHW and even then hed not be huge.
The glory days are nice but I would be extremely hesitant to even call him a favorite vs the top light heavies of the last 20 years...and then going even at CW I’m like... ehhh..
Fortunately he didnt need to be better than a giant like Vitali or Fury or Lennox or anything and he gets alll the credit from being as good as he was then.
Fury goes 100-0 if he fights 100 times inserted into the start of Marciano’s career and ending.
Joe Louis was old and shot.
Joe Walcott was old.
Ezzard Charles was a blown up light heavyweight.
Archie Moore was old AND a blown up light heavyweight.
- -And U jus DUM!
Ezzard Charles is like a year apart in age from Marciano. He had a whole career's experience ahead of Marciano. If it was Wilder we'd claim that's a huge win.
Let me say that differently. Povetkin's much more than just a year older and hasn't ever champion, but, if Wilder licked him today we'd still call that a good win for Wilder. Somehow Charles ain't a damn good win for Marciano though.
Povetkin wasn't a blown up light heavyweight.
He beat Archie Moore, Ezzard Charles twice, Joe Walcott twice and Joe Louis.
Louis was 66-2 when he fought Marciano, not 66-50.

Boxings problem is that instead of having fans of the sport we have fanatics who dksab and ***** on ATGS to make mediocre(in comparison) boxers look better. On top of that every fight of the fighter they are idolizing ranks them above said ATGs and they usually can't understand why barely anybody agrees with them. Its because you don't know ***** or are blinded by your fanboyism.

- -U da Dumbolyst...sweet...
Marciano was a great boxer but let's not be stupid and start imagining him fighting and beating good fighters more than 1/2 a foot taller and 50-60 pounds heavier.
He was great in his time.

I know one thing your drug resume must be awesome.
Wilder stops Marciano. :P
Doubtful. Wilder's body would take a pounding. He'd have trouble punching down at a bobbing and weaving Rocky. Wilder's power is all from straight telegraphed right hands. Rock would also make him pay for his sloppy defense. His stamina would carry him through, unlike fat 40 year old Ortiz.
